"Disclaimer"
I am Carlos Martinez III
I am NOT like every one else.

From a American
A different ... Type
All the dependency I see in my country has created a lean . The Lorax says " you know what way a tree falls .. The way it leans."
A grown man , human am I, and am neither dependent on my govnt or the laws they pass.
It has not been easy to come to this place I stand before you , fully self sufficient. I teach my family my values and it is my chosen path and study to do just that.
My government has very little space in my life and time because I live not on them and their "greatness " or silliness but on the simple fact I learned to read at 18 and can pretty much do with my two hands anything anyone else wants to charge me or tax me for. . .
I give time and effort to our leaders ( who are fully self sufficient them selfs... Set I think is the word or financially well off. There are those who think and live there. I do it without the spending lol or the amount !
Trying to wean a nation is tough . Possible but tough . I hope we progress in a way that makes more people realize they are dependent and rid them selfs of a bit of it .
I will always support my leaders wether I voted for them or not.
Tough one

I wonder if that's a major philosophical difference?

With the exception of the queen, who we can generally accept does bugger all other than look good on coins and has her name on the Post Office - I don't really view our elected officials as leaders.

They are elected because they agree to do all the paperwork necessary to have the country run the way we want it run (and, if you've been following Australian politics for the last 20 years, we are apparently more than happy to sack them on a whim)

If the PM (or any of the other Ministers) start collecting toe nails and keeping their urine in jars, they usually get kicked from their position by one method or another.

(There have been instances where they have been the right key people in key seats to start taking too much power, but then the public start taking an interest in those individuals, and the Australian public (and media) and nothing if not vindictive when we find out someone has does something unseemly (well, we enjoy unseemliness. We love a polly who can chug a beer and win a bar fight, as long as they do it with their own money and not ours....))

I got distracted there, what was my point?

Oh right, where's mel gibson when you need him?

As usual - Different cultures, different political systems, your mileage may vary, etc etc.

On the contrary, your entire life style as it exists today is a direct result of your dependence on that govt whether you will recognize that or not. That govt and the laws it enacts and services it provides generates that thin veneer of civilization in which the tenets of Justice, domestic tranquility, common national defense, the promotion of our general welfare, and the provision of the blessings of liberty for our selves and our posterity are given as set for by the people of this great nation. Without these things the life you know today would not exist. But having said that, these sorts of dependencies are a healthy thing vs the sorts of tyrannical dependencies that democratic philosophies and its resultant socialism wants to impose on our freedoms.

Im sorry, mine is not. Kinna bold to say tell some one, not my cup of tea to tell others what they are and are not. It is possible to not be dependent and it is possible to be self sufficient ... In any land. That idea I share with a few I hope.
I choose my leaders. At any time they do not or stray from their ... Oath ... There are ways of taking proper action but it takes time knowledge and drive. So many times we know our strengths and do nothing with them . I live in Illinois , bet u me I'm voting vets in stead of lawyers and thiefs this upcoming but it's gunna take a lot of research and time . I will choose this year according to my wishes , wish every one would do the same. I'm NOT re voting for any one who hasn't passed a state budget for over a year or two (20 months) now for our own state ... So yea it starts with us . Me . I already started will you join me ? Will you stand for ... Yourself and depend on yourself ? Your OWN faith or just rely on others to give u a fish ... "Easy preacher " my bad ! Or is it ? May the Force find us every where we seek it !

The sad thing is that you don't even see the irony in your own statements. Of course you make choices and have freedoms that you exercise, but the very system you claim Independence from is the very same system that grants you those freedoms. Try going to North Korea or existing in a state of anarchy and try that same thing. I dare say you will be utterly dissapointed.

But where I am I live here. Not any where else , here where I am. Please do not be upset or out of sort on my behalf . Not every one shares the same ideas and views on everything . Obviously we don't see eye to eye. The wonderful thing we don't have to. I respect your insight . It is true . Very valid, for or not for me . I use my freedoms differently . That's all. No need for insult or discord. I do apologize if that was the case. Please forgive me

LOL forgive you for what? There was no insult or discord, at least not on my part. It was simple discussion - nothing more. We can discuss a subject from opposite sides and still afford each other respect. Besides If everyone shared the same ideas this would be a pretty boring place. What would we talk about after all?

Id love to see anyone here make a full country magically perfect in two months XD hahaha I think people also forget that the president cant 'Just make things happen' he actually does have certian process's and hoops to jump through to see anything come to real action. His "Power" only goes so far and he himself has said that he has addressed numerous things and had to make alot of adaptions to his original plans because the people who really do make these things happen, forced said adaptions.

Simply put.

If you don't like something. Then DO Something about it.

Trump is the one who said he would do things within two months. They were his promises and he isn't keeping them. He can't even admit that he was too hasty or too eager to sign executive orders he didn't understand. I do not have to be patient with him just because he had no understanding of the job he was running for. Everyone told him his timelines were impossible and he ran with them anyway. Now he back tracks and blames others for his lack of knowledge about how our government works and then rants about it on Twitter like a spoiled teenager. He is damaging the credibility of the office and weakening our reputation among allies and enemies in the process. It is reckless at the least and criminal at worst.

Meanwhile, he's at his golf course... again.

Discord or jealousy inhibits the ability of the Holy Ghost to teach us and inhibits our ability to receive light and truth. And the feelings of disappointment that invariably follow are the seeds of greater discord and faultfinding among those who expected a learning experience that did not come. (Henry B. Eyring)

Replace "Holy Ghost" with whatever you believe in spiritually, but that's exactly how I feel about politics, no matter where it happens. Discord and jealously being the driving forces, leading to more discord and jealousy, preventing us from finding peace. In many countries, the president has the function of being a mediator, a wise person, someone who is trying to work against discord and hatred, without actually holding much political power. For whatever reason, in some countries however, including the US, the president (often) is the chief instigator. Is this really necessary?

Do not look for happiness outside yourself. The awakened seek happiness inside.

So this is a thing. Would rather have this in a thread unlike my last Trump related thingy on the wall.

Trump's Vacation: BBC NEWS

TL;DR: Trump is taking a 17 day vactaion, counteracting things he said in November to 60 Minutes, and tweets he said about taking vacations if you love your job.

How Long has Trump been in Office?

Trump has been (as of today 8/5/2017) in office 196 days. He has already spent 40 of those days playing golf, and now he's retiring to his golf resort for 17 days to relax... Hypocrisy.
