Hello brothers and sister of the jedi order, since i saw the episode 1 in cinema i loved the jedi, not only the ligthsabers but all their philosophy, since then i pratice the jedi religion. But i belive people dont see the jedi order as a real thing just because it came from movies, a lot of religions have no base on.
But i belive we have same fault, we should take the jedi order more seriously and became something real, this world need a religion like the jedi order that defend peace, justice, a world with no borders.
I would like to say that i am jedi and not have people making fun of me, i dont own a ligthsaber dont dress like jedis, i am normal college student, have nice friends, and i consider myself a good person and a follower of the jedi order and the jedi code.

Thanks :). I come to this foruns a lot of time, and everytime i came i say to myself " Something is missing" , i read a lot of questions and help for the iniciates but dont see masters, dont see apprentices, dont see anyone trying to make this dream come true, becoming a reality, no meetings but not like comicons not meetings with jedi cosplays, a meeting to organize the order, trying to make this real, a council, trying to create movements to peace and help the world to become a better place.
Dont know maybe its just me but i think the jedi order must become real or this dream will die...

Hi Vraell :)

Thanks for your comments,

Since you visit the Temple frequently I'd love to know which parts of the order you think aren't organised and how we can make it more 'real'? Also, what about the Temple at present do you think isn't 'real'? Maybe we could pass it onto the Council to look into :).

Also, we do have a council/apprentices/knights (masters), and we have/are having several meetings around the world that do not involve comicon/cosplay, one in the netherlands last month and one next month in the uk to name a couple, though admittedly they are still social gatherings, not 'a meeting to organize the order'. It is possible that some (or all) of these threads may be hidden to you as you are still a Guest (I can't remember what Guests can and can't see lol)

Please stick around you seem like a cool guy B)

Thanks mate :) I dont know maybe its just me, but i have a vision of a jedi order with some importance in the world as we follow the jedi code we are keepers of the peace and justice. when i try to investigate more about our order i only see people making fun of the jedi order. I didnt know about those meetings, i am glad some of us are taking the order seriously.

You'd be surprised how many actually do take the order seriously, especially around here.

If you become a Temple Member, you have access to many more discussions on the forum.

Also, if you wish to have people take the Order seriously, a good way it to start with yourself and your own circle. Start a dialogue outside the Order, explain who we are and what we do. :)

I once had this vision too :) I think one needs to be careful though, as we are a religion/way of life first and foremost, not a political movement. Obviously it is important that we, as Jedi, aim to help those around us and try to keep the peace as much as possible, but i don't think most people here would want us to get too involved in the political side of things :) .

As for people making fun. Try seeing it from their point of view, if someone walked up to you and said I follow a religion based off of a 1970's Kid's Sci Fi film, you'd probably laugh at them too (I know I would). But I find that once you explain to people that we're not actually anything like the Jedi in the films, that we don't wear robes, or wield lightsabers, and once you start to explain what we actually believe in and the path that we follow, most people think its pretty damn cool

'Tis much more effective to take it "sincerely" than to take it "seriously." Little can attract as much ridicule as that which is put forth as 'quite serious'. Sincerity, on the other hand, not only resists ridicule, but may be in fact strengthened by it (cf. Tao Te Ching 20).
