Mod Abuse

Des has not misbehaved, he has done his job as a forum mod. Not agreeing with his actions doesn't mean he has abused his position.

i would agree with this if he would have simply closed that particular thread - even then he could have talked to me about it when i asked him, but he refused to answer me

but he also deleted my comment, twice, in the PC thread, and deleted it the first time i started this conversation as a new topic

It would have been then because of the tone.. not just the content. We have other mods.. you can always speak to another before posting 'calling out' threads on the forum to express your dissatisfaction.

Considering that, at the time of me hitting quote just now, he isn't even showing as logged in, I don't think he's particularly refusing to answer to you

That said, sometimes it's better to let people cool off before responding anyway. *shrugs*

OB, I may be reading into this but it sounds like you're throwing a tantrum. If Des didn't respond to a PM, perhaps something took him offline. He doesn't live here. There are also other mods that have those kind of powers. Are you sure (with proof) he was responsible for all of this? Or are you looking for an outlet for your anger?

You also don't know who else got PMs about their words. And that's not for you to know.

Real PC, PROBLEMATIC PC, is when people refuse to address difficult TOPICS out of fear, being considered and respectful in ones LANGUAGE is called "SOCIAL ACUITY" and is a GOOD THING

thats as near to verbatim as i can recall

if someone made a complaint because they felt i was being offensive, that doesnt actually mean that my words should have been deleted - several people here are quite offensive on a regular basis, and i know this because at least some of their posts dont get deleted and i am able to read them

its also no reason to ignore me and delete further attempts at conversation over the matter

i think the threads had valid points in both but when you start name calling and getting all pissed of i think people begin to lose credibility. I said this this morning also we have young people on this site who pay attention to what the adults do, We are responsible for how we behave. and for the representation of this place as Jedi. I have no problem with ether thread I think perhaps this situation might have been handled a bit better on all sides. I think both sides are valid. it is not the sides that are wrong but the delivery.

I would hope this could be resolved peacefully. The code says "There is no emotion there is peace, There is no chaos there is Harmony"

I dislike political correctness too, but it really just looks rude to post these sorts of things publicly.

Do you get some sort of notification that it's him or are you assuming? And then does that mean that some sort of emergency couldn't come up on his end that he needed to take care of? Or even maybe he felt the need to step away from the computer. Maybe he got abducted by aliens? Are you monitoring his home to know?

I would also like to point out that there are far more appropriate ways of addressing this, if you truly do believe you're being "picked on"... That don't include a public blasting and are far more likely to get an amicable response...

But as Kamizu has pointed out multiple times now, there is more than one mod, and you have no way of knowing why he's not responding at the moment.

Maybe just best to step back and chill out a bit :dry:
