MY only question is why.... i feel like we are starting to go in a circle since this is a topic that there will always be around three sides to. the one's against the one's for and the on'es who either don't care or just are in the middle about it all. Can we just all agree to disagree since no one is going to accept what the other is going to say? Everyone has a great point to their side. But we will end up going in a circle.

Don't get me wrong, I am totally in favor of equality. However, I am saying that it should not come in the form of tearing down one group, but building up the others.

yet in the end one group will be torn down and the other will be brought up. which is what has been happening on this thread.

Agreeing to disagree is a silly thing to do. In agreeing to disagree with someone you are admitting that it is alright to stop learning and to stop listening to another's points simply because they don't line up with your already formed opinions. If, while debating, you come to a point where you have not convinced the other person, they have not convinced you and neither of you have more to offer on the subject the answer is not to abandon the subject and move on with your life, the answer should be to gain more information about each side of the topic and to attempt to find the truth. I acknowledge that the truth is not the same for everyone but if you do not care to understand the truths of others than you lack knowledge of your own truth as well.

I never said you had it easy. I actually specifically said that even privileged people have problems. I was only pointing out that being privileged allows you to start out ahead of others in certain areas of your life.
Agreeing to disagree doesn't really work when you're talking about people not having the same rights as others because of circumstances of birth.
I don't think anyone here is advocating for tearing one group down to build another up.

Are you willing to say that someone's thoughts were changed? because i have not seen that. yes maybe saying agreeing to disagree is wrong but there has not been a change in motion just a change in discussion of people trying to prove there point.

I can guarantee that not everybody thinks the exact same way after reading this thread. I don't think the exact same way and I have personally gone on to learn more about the subject because I found that I was not well informed. A change in discussion means a change in the way of thinking. Not all changes have to be drastic or dramatic to be noticeable.
I don't expect Ren to suddenly become a feminist or Brenna to suddenly stop being one. This thread has, however, made them both think through their opinions again and re-test their knowledge and thoughts. That is a valuable thing to do and I think that if you can debate respectfully and calmly then there is no harm in it.
