This to me is part of what happens when you take everything in a book litrelly and dont think or feel. Theres no compassion just a theology of litralism and no bliss or heart only hate.

I am not bashing on Christians with this comment, but many Christians today do not follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. According to the myth, Jesus stated "Love one another, as I have loved you". It is amazing how many Christians take a blind eye/deaf ear to that statement.

Some people have deeply ingrained beliefs that are hard to shake, unfortunately...

You have to remind yourself sometimes that it's not personal - it's their issue, and it's not really a reflection on you...

I know it can be difficult when you encounter people like this, but try not to get upset or angry...yes, it can feel a bit like banging your head against a brick wall when you try to explain things to someone who just isn't prepared to open their ears and heart to what you are saying, but to an extent, it isn't their fault if they have been brought up to believe that sort of thing.

I would say...don't worry about it too much, carry on with your normal life and if your words don't have any affect show him (and any others like him) by your actions that you are a good person...

And make sure that you don't get stuck in any arguments with him that might jeopardise your tenancy :)

And remember, too, not to judge all Christians by these sorts of people ;)

I can sympathise if people do something wrong because of their past. I am more sympathetic to someone who steals to stop from starving and someone doing it for a laugh. I still punish both for it though...

The fact that they have had a rough life doesn't exclude someone from punishment, but it makes me more forgiving of their actions and understanding of their reasons...

'It' is still their fault...

But you are right of course, and I agree with you...to an extent ;)

I would say they are rightfully liable but that it isn't their fault. We are what we experience and only have very little control on what we experience.

Convictions are more dangerous foes of truth than lies.

i wasn't awful to him i was diplomatic. just ask him why do you think that. but the only answer i got was cos the bible says so. that to me wasn't a good argument. seemed like he just took what he wanted out of the bible and didnt embrace the full message of the myth. he could get more out of his religion if he took time and understud, then opened him heart and mind more. the only time homosexuality is talked about in the bible is once and that is in lavidicas. which is the same gospel that states that when a woman finishes her period she must sacrifice a pigeon, or she shall be stoned to death. im not against anyones religion, i like people tell me about their beliefs its very interesting to me. just i just think people need to use their core beliefe to insight love and compassion not haterd. i think he is and isnt too blame. he is the only christian i know that believes this stuff. i try to see everyone point of view and more often that not can but i just couldnt understand him. i just kept thinking why cant people see that we are all the same, all one. i just think it comes from taking a teaching like the bible literally rather than metophoricely

Many people, Christians included, aren't actually aware that (in the Bible) Jesus never said anything against homosexuality.

It's often a good trump card to pull out when someone is using the Bible as justification for their anti-homosexual beliefs ;)

Ask your landlord if he prefers using the King James version of the Bible (the version every bible is now drawn from). Then casually inform him that King James had many male suitors... ;)

Hiit on him a little. That macho homophobia bs is hiding some latent homosexual tendencies, I bet.
