Prostitution

There's always the risk of pregnancy. Men can have sex and walk away scot-free if they want. If a woman has careless sex and ends up getting pregnant she's pretty much stuck with the consequences.
In the UK, men's health issues gets very little attention. We constantly hear about breast cancer (and it's funded by the gov), but prostate cancer kills as many men as breast cancer kills women. there's no money going to research, nothing. Whenever you enter a public building, all the pamphlets you see are aimed at women.
That sucks that it appears to be one sided in the UK. I just came back from the store and this month it's taking donations for prostate cancer (my store cycles through charities throughout the year).
But you know what, I have sick feeling that most of the money obtained for cancer research never makes it to the proper place. Cancer is big business. So while breast cancer might get more attention it's not getting any better results.
As for prostitution aren't we all prostitutes? I sell my time and body to my job and anybody else with a job does the same thing. If they legalized prostitution it would most likely cut down on crime and hopefully cut down on the amount of children who are sold into the SL industry.
P.S. I'm sure you'll get your penny, but I really hope you don't.

There are male prostitutes too, you know.

" I would have taken it to mean women who are not in situations like forced prostitution or slave labour, but comfortable first world feninists who are still whinging about the "system" but doing nothing to create change.
HA! I laughed so hard at this! I am in love with the term "first world feminists" now. I see your point now. I guess the original statement just seemed like a broad generalization of overall prostitution. Still I don't think is oppresses men. That seems a little whinny.

Yeah, first world feminits is a favorite topic of mine. probably because I butt heads with them so often!
Well I think about it this way, supply and demand. Whatever the reason for the demand, someone will provide the supply. Prostitution has been around for thousands of years and I dont believe it has to do with a lack of sex! A lack of uncomplicated sex... maybe. Which is also I believe responsible for the increase in women seeking the services of male prostitutes.

Actually in Ancient Greece sex was much like it is for women today. Bath houses were full of all men that were very much as comfortable with other man as lesbians are and straight women are with other women.

One of my favorite quotes about sexuality:
"All flesh is flesh.
But how do you know?
Simple, I turned out the light"

I agree completely. There will always be a demand for paid sex because that is something that just fires some people up. Yet I will have to say again, there is no way is oppresses men. Oppression implies force and lack of free will. Men and women make a choice to purchase sex, they are not forced. Therefor not oppression.

Im not sure that there is "no way" to oppress men. I just dont think that prostitution is a way.

When you work from your home and johns call on the phone, you're a call girl. When you walk 'til you limp and give a cut to a pimp, you're a street whore. When they're beggin' you please to get down on your knees near their groinage, excusa me, but you see, don't you touch where they pee without coinage.

It's funny that you should state this as this is something I think is a REAL problem that men in relationships get at least once a month.
It's medically recognised that women suffer from both P.M.T and P.M.S, my theory is at the same time men suffer from L.O.S.T (lack of sex tension)
Ironically enough I also believe it is the women who activate this syndrome in men as generally when suffering from either of the above they use the term "Get Lost"
*could this be some kind of subliminal activator of the condition ?? I believe further study is needed.
