The American gun Laws.....can it remain as it is?

rickie, to further illustrate my point,

'American corpses sprawled on the beach of Tarawa. The Marines secured the island after 76 hours of intense fighting with around 6,000 dead in total from both sides together. The Pacific War claimed the lives of more than 100,000 US military personnel.'

more men died in the battle for tarawa, a rock of some strategic importance in the pacific, than in all 10 years or so of OEF. THATS a hard time.

Yeah my SR.Chief was a real by the book strict human sphincter...and my lieutenant was really laid back...when working in rate he left me in charge of the PO3's and PO2(I was only an E3 at the time, seaman) ...only because I actually knew more...but whenever someone outside our division was around I had to play the good little monkey, or when the SRChief was around... I don't like to use the word much...but I hated the SRChief ....when my appendix was removed I was on 30 days convalescence leave and after 3 days he was harassing me to report back in...in his words "it doesn't take long to heal from any surgery"

Like I said...it does seem a bit convenient that at a time when they're planning to try and push through a ban that there is a sudden upswing in the usage of the bans target

Roflmao....everyone loved me(except the SRChief) ... I ran the supply warehouse, the hazmat warehouse, and the gun locker...no one dared make me mad....cuz they knew I held the key to getting what they wanted/needed...

I do have no doubt that there will be a ban on AR's again....sux because now I won't be able to replace the one my dad left me...if only I had a CNC machine...then I could just make my own...

A March 4, 2009, article in USA Today reported that according to a Pentagon estimate, as many as 360,000 U.S. veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts may have suffered traumatic brain injuries.

Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.

Hope you are ready to give up your kitchen knives in the UK, because that is next on the list of banned weapons. After all, wouldn't you feel safer if criminals didn't have knives to stab people with?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4581871.stm

Once they have those banned, i am sure pointy edges on tables and boards with nails in them will also be on the list.

BTW, just illustrating a point. The article is from 2005.

And, Ren, that's awesome that you love your country and feel safe in it. That's what matters, right? I also love and feel safe in my country (guns included of course).

... Except it isn't my country.

So, you're not British? Then what is your country if it's not the one you live in?

And although some guns do come from the US they are also obtained from many other countries as well. You know, like when militaries get rid of old stuff. A lot of German, French, Russian, Italian, etc. guns make it over here too (New and old)...even some British ones but those aren't as common.

Though, I do wonder if the Mexican people would feel safer or be safer if honest citizens had freer access to guns instead of just letting thugs have them. Because that's what happens when they become illegal. Criminals have 'em and good people suffer for it. And the Government has yet to save them.

Another thing, do anti-gunners feel that those who have been saved by a firearm should have died instead? Because there are many, many, many times when a law abiding citizen has had to use one to save themselves. Why do they feel their rights are more important than ours? Why should I have to give up a freedom so others can have a false sense of security? Kind of a, "If you can't trust me then I can't trust you." kind of a thing.

I'm french. And in my country there are quite a lot of guns. But no-one except the serious criminals dare get them out because they know their lives would be over if they did. (also they tend to be quite old and I think it'd take guts to fire one) only hunters can have hunting guns, during hunting season. No conceal and carry there, owning = straight to jail. I think (I'd have to check though) most deaths as a result of firearm use are hunting accidents and suicides. But homicides are still too high.

Then come the criminals. criminals are usually well armed. and use modern guns. And I think the main reason for this is that other criminals are well armed, and the police is well armed. The gendarmerie (most french cops) are actually with the military, and they are fairly well armed. What I like about the UK is that even the police isn't armed. Only special police forces are. Criminals know they are better off not using guns. And as a result there is little violent crime. And the petty criminals remain petty.

Not long ago on a military base in the US, a guy went crazy and started shooting his former mates. He managed to kill 13 and injure 29. Considering the guy was a shrink, I find it strange he managed to kill and injure this many soldiers. On an american base. On US soil. I wonder what things would have been like had they all been unarmed. (obviously I'm not saying the military should disarm itself, simply looking at a situation where everyone was a highly trained, responsible, uniformed patriotic you-name-it gun owner)

Convictions are more dangerous foes of truth than lies.
