Adi Vas is an abridged version of a name I was going to use, but never ended up using in a game I used to play. In its abridged form it has absolutely no intrinsic meaning, but Adi is a nicely gender-neutral name and Vas is kinda close to my actual surname.

I guess I decided to use it here because joining this community represents a sort of spiritual rebirth on my part, and I needed something new, something that was a clean slate. Now I can't imagine being called anything but Adi. It was meant to be!

I feel the same way about Edan :)

Creating an identity I think is quite a powerful thing, a way of expressing who you feel you are, instead of what others expect you to be.

It won't let me have a blank signature ...

Kamizu is from two Japanese words. Ka (fire) mizu (water)

I started writing stories in High School and created this character to be the protagonist in them. He's been a Kai lord, fought along side the Fremen, the hero of his own story, a dragon rider, an X-wing pilot, a Jedi....all sorts of stuff that.

Flash forward about 15 years...and I realized that he was a kind of alter ego I guess. He did the things I wish I could. He had the friends that cared for him. He was and did everything I wish I could. I also noticed that he had been strictly a Jedi for over a year. So driven by that and a few other things I made an account here.

initially my account was named "Neko" (an old nickname of mine that no one uses anymore) but then I decided that I didn't want Kamizu to have all the fun anymore. I made the continues decision to make the two parts of myself as one.

It was odd being called Kamizu, because it always felt like someone else but we're me now :D yay!

Although for some time know I've been introducing myself as Kit. I've thought about having it changed here but I thought that'd cause too much confusion :D I feel Kit really fits me

Good question, guess I will put this In my Journal as well..

First I would like to tell that I have multiple names across the web. I am for example active as an board moderator for a guild. Active as head of an art department of a small gaming community and member of countless of forums across the web. Though I am only active on 3 - 4 forums.

The funny thing, about the use of different names, is that it is highly depending on forum I join. At the gaming community I am also part of their human affairs branch, that also act as diplomats and art / marketing branch. I use a different name on that website, than on a simple website for school.. For me every name has an story.. and it is most of the time an emotional story, sad and happy memories.

It is just the same here, I wanted to show my most common emotion. The best way for me to explain was with the word 'Aqua' It is also an international word (Latin) so If people did their school properly they will know the word! Having a word that is understandable as it is suitable, is very important for me.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Aqua means water:

Most of the time I have a soft water like response, being able to be neutral and tolerant towards others, even if I feel extremely the opposite, or scared. Sometimes this can bring misunderstandings with it. It is a strong part of me, but also a big problem for people that do not know me. It is extremely rare and difficult for me to be as hard as Ice, guess being hard an tough is not my strongest part.. Also I am known to be as foggy and elusive if I enter critical talk, most of the time I try to avoid it..

People say that water can cut trough the hardest stones, hard stones will push water away. Just the way I am.. Being able to persuade people easily, but not being able to truly deal with critical response without becoming emotional scared or sad about it. I see my forum name as an way of expressing myself in all those aspects.

Please do not misunderstand me, I really like to be able to be hard sometimes, I am capable to act with little emotions, but find it hard to resist my emotions when entering critical talk. It is not in my nature to do otherwise, it is as much as an problem for some other people as it is an character trait for me. Guess it made me who I am, and I am really thankful for that.

For those who conciser an username, choose something that you like. You will have to deal with it for a very long time.

May the force be with us,

- Aqua

My name really is Rickie. Just plain old "Rickie" :)

I've been called a lot of names. Richard, I use it sometimes when introducing my self. Rich at work. Most family call me Rick. In my early youth I was Little Rickie or Rickie Rock Head.

I just like Rickie.

My middle name is Rose, I just switched it to the old English version. So here I guess I'm a Jedi Rose. :-) I am not hiding anything but for security I won't tell you my last name unless asked. My first name is Heather. Yup I'm a hippy child but I got two flowers rather than something really crazy.

No actually my parents were high school sweethearts and are still married after fourty years. In high school they were in a musical their senior year called Brigadoon and had to sing a duet together called "Heather on the Hill" they decided then and there that they would name their daughter Heather and their very good friend for many years was a horse person they knew named Rose. For them it fit the generation and the culture at the time. :-)

Roz is one of my many nicknames and one I have always liked. So for me it's my real name, just not all of it. :-)

Oh! Wait a moment.

Do you pronounce it "Rohz" then? I've been doing "Rahz" like short for Rosalyn.

My username is a hybrid between Alekos, which is a short for my realname and Legolas from the Lord of the Rings. My friends came yp with that name and I use it almost everywhere since then. It is my xbox gamertag and username in many fora. I also used it with my airsoft team, even if they called me Lego for short. But it is a fact that my friends call me that in person.
Real names and further data on the web is not what I call security...

One my original internet usernames was Lionslicer. Mastodon fans are really the only people who know where it comes from. "Lion" has since been a staple in many of my usernames because of the original username and my physical appearance is a bit lion-like. I went with FriendlyLion because I feel like I am quite friendly and didn't anyone here to think I slice lions.
