Username and why we use them ?

My username was chosen due to the fact that many of my military buddies have said that in the heat of an emergency type of situation, be it training or otherwise, I become some un-human like being. I act as if I was being led by some unknown entity, I make decisions that noone else seems to be able to make in a short matter of time. I have been called a few other names as well..Sandman as the desert doesnt bother me. I care not that people may know or find out my real name, it is just easy find out..on my profile or just ask.

I had to renew my license plates (I forgot when they were due... I was late... YIKES!!)

No tickets thank goodness...

As I put my sticker on my plate, I got to thinking about this thread...

Thought I'd take a picture....

This one shows the earliest sticker as '03... I think I have another plate around the house somewhere....

This one is looking a little woogy... Might have to replace it next year...

My username combines my love of both Japanese culture and mythology from all over the world.

My favorite kinds of myths are creation myths. Something about the idea of order coming from primeval chaos excites me.

Seeing the words 'cloud' and 'water' in the definition of Onokoro I found reminded me of a passage from one of my favorite books- Philip Toshio Sudo's Zen Guitar:

\"Those who train here I regard not as students, but unsui. In Japanese, unsui means traveling monk or truth-seeker. Literally, it translates as \"cloud and water.\" To be an unsui is to embody the spirit of Zen Guitar--floating, flowing, at once with and without form. That is one cool plate.

I really wish that we could have plates like this, ours are cr#p and so boaring.

I chose MikeBudo as Mike is my first name and Budo is very much how I live or aim to live my life.

Other names that have been aimed at me ..might not be advisable to print lol . My nickname in the army was Rabbit as I was fairly quick on my feet and my Surname is O'Hare . I haven't used my surname as some electronic systems don't like the apostrophy.

In Illinois, we do pay a premium for the customized plates...

Regular plates are $80 - US
Vanity, which means letters and numbers ar $106 - US
and
Custom (all letters) are around $120 - US

That is a standard Illinois plates, we also have plates for Breast Cancer, Cancer, P.O.W.s, Veterns, Domestic Violence, Environment, Children's causes, and many more... They all add to the bill, but the extra money on them goes toward the charity it showes support for.... We also have limited Edition Plates for holidays, and special events...

Its a real shame that we do not have such things over here, it would really help to raise funds for those that need it most.

Trying to get our Driving Standards Agency to change over here would take a very large miracle :laugh:

My state has a massive range of personalised plates, ranging all the way to plates that cost more than some second hand cars :laugh: . All proceeds go to a worthy cau... the State Government .
