Reminder: TOTJO is global, not just American

Just a "Btw topic" and reminder to my fellow Americans I've been meaning to post but forgot about until now.

When talking about things like politics or American focused ideas, let's try to remember to specify the country we're talking about instead of saying "this country" for example. While a large amount, if not a majority of, the member base are American, it might be respectful to keep from neglecting acknowledgement that the US isn't the only country in the world.

Just putting this out there as a mannerful etiquette we might want to develop as Jedi. :)

“For it is easy to criticize and break down the spirit of others, but to know yourself takes a lifetime.”
― Bruce Lee

To be fair, I believe that many times (and, in fact, automatically assume) the phrase "this country" means the country of the speaker, and not an assumed United States.

I've always wondered if the Temple becomes too American-centric in our discussions at times.

Only when people start telling those of us not from the US that, because we are not American, we can't understand.

We can, but because we're not American we have a different perspective - which those who take that line are refusing to accept as valid/understand, themselves. It's a cop-out.

Tell that to most Americans, they all seem to think the US is the centre of the universe! and everyone else should bow down to them.
