The power of music over the mind has been well understood for thousands of years - from the chanting prior too/during meditation/prayer - to 'hyping' up hoards of warriors prior to combat

I have wondered if humans are the only ones to 'appreciate' music in tis way- is bard sing really just to 'communicate'

according to mythbusters plants respond to music as well....i know some animals do too...or at least i've seen some that do...

well - we know dogs howl to music - and i think the plants think is more of a 'energy response' than anything else - what I mean is - do other creatures make/listen too 'music' for pleasure? ie for anything other than basic biological fuuntions (ie breeding_ or communication?

Fragile Force

I'm not sure if I'm wrong in doing so but I've been trying to force my connection with the Force. A times I feel the connection but Its faint and I could be mistaking the feeling for something else. Never the less when I feel the \"Force\" I get a feeling of openness. When I get that feeling It's so easy to understnad other. I've also noticed that anger envy and over all hate keep from forcing my connection with this feeling,wich is why I lable it \"The Force\". I know it sounds like I'm just stating the obvious but through meditation and time this feeling has become more and more common. Though the feeling is easly broken I've come to rely on it when dealing with my problems or the problems of others. It has helped me to understand that most people have the same goal they just refuse to try eachothers methods of achieving that goal. Are the means really that much more important than the ends? Never the less I'll keep trying to connect people to this Life network I call \"The Force\".

i wouldn't think it was wrong to try and force the door open, however sometimes less is more...the less you try the more it'll open on it's own...

it's like seeing everything before it happens, feeling emotions that aren't your own, with foresight and feeling, comprehension comes easily....

like they say practice makes perfect...we're all heading in the same direction we just use different maps to get there....

yeah I quote Yoda also. To be honest I'm more of a Yoda fan than a star wars fan.

I can see the connections between the movie force and what I feel however I really dont want to be wrong on this one so I'm just stating whats common. What isn't common is that it wont take my commands. I only try to will this feeling or \"force\" this feeling when its needed not for my own gain and it still wont respond. Its really random and hard to trust but I trust it anyways. Thats Faith.

it's nice when you can get it working...i use it most often when driving to avoid potentail accidents...also to know how to deal with people around me...of course it doesn't always work when i'd like it to otherwise i'd win the lotto...:laugh:

i've learned to \"trust my instincts\" through trial and error...lots of error before i learned to simply trust....every now and then i question whether my instinct is right usually i go with it and things work out, on the occassion i don't things tend to go awry in really bad ways...

i find that simply relaxing allows it to work faster and more effectively...when i use it for driving, i don't think about it, it just happens...usually i'll be thinking of something else when a warning hits me....i do try gaining some level of control by predicting what song comes on next on the radio...so far i'm correct about 80% of the time other times i'm so far off it's laughable

Huh? I thought it was just me but I can some time..well most times predict small future events. I call it foresight but its a lot stronger than I thought its should be. But yeah its random and hard to trust but I trust it none the less

i've saved my fingers and my head a few times with the early warnings...still wound up with scars, but it would of been worse had i not seen it coming just before it did...

Perceiving Time and Chance in Order to Pick a Possible Future

I have to say that this is going to be one of the hardest thing that I've tried to explain. Still its become more and more clear that chance and time cane be calculated in order to narrow down possible outcomes. Not an easy thought I know. Its not reading or seeing the future but more or less deducing impossible(not likely) outcomes. One thing I always remember is that no matter how long or how well I think about an outcome there is always a chance that it wont work out how I thought. Its not easy to do but if you have the time to mediate on it you'll fined that most times you'll come to a very possible conclusion.

What you have to keep in mind is that the saying \"Life isn't fair\" isn't true. \"Life/The Force\" is VERY fair! Not every one can win every time and not every one can lose every time. Seems very fair to me. Another thing to keep in mind is that every event has a 50% chance of happening. All things happen or they dont, nothing just maybe happens. Time is also a factor as the more time you have before the unveiling of your event the more likely that some thing you hadn't thought of might come in to play. Lastly you have to remember that the more people involved in an event the less likely that it will happen how you \"foresaw\" it. An event may still happen but not exactly how you thought about it. The reason is because every one has a free will and they can choose not to take part in your plans or can be affected by circumstances.

All of these things seem like they would block your few of the future but instead they help you fine a likely possibility. Your few of the future should start out with many branches and after you factor in some likely contingencies you'll fine that your left with very few branches. Then it comes down to some old Jedi skills. Feel witch one feels most likely to happen and hope for the best. Try to update your few of an event when ever you can. Sure it is pretty much a guess but...its an educated one.
