Okay, ToTJO... define a "darkie" and then define what "darkness" means to you.

Where on Earth to you people live where you go around saying "darkie"? It's a rude racist term referring to a person of color.

Darkness and dark have a variety of meanings depending on context. There's the darkness of a moonless night, far out in the country away from the glare of city lights. There's the dark night of the soul. There's dark comedies like the movie The Loved One. Wearing dark colors make me look less fat; that's for sure. Dark Shadows (1966 -1971) is my favorite soap opera of all time. There's the wonderful cool of the dark at night after a horrible hot summer Southeast Texas August day. There's dark matter and dark energy that make up most of the observable universe but we don't know what it is. It neither emits or inhibits light so it's very difficult to detect. A dog in A Christmas Carol thinks of its owner as a Dark Master. "No eye at all is better than an evil eye Dark Master." ....

John, ask the ones calling themselves "darkies" that question. As far as I know, the term is used in the FA to refer to DA members.

Can you give a definition of "darkness" that might be somewhat valid for someone who desires to study it? Like a "Dark Jedi"?

Some plants only grow in full sunlight but others only survive in full shade. The moonflower blooms at night. At the touch of sunrise it withers and falls to the ground. This video is in realtime - not time lapsed. A Jedi should not be helpless in the dark or blinded by the light. The garden is a healthy one. I have no ... claim.

I didnt say "desire"...

I desire to learn new things
too...:)

I said "need"...

If I don't get to learn what I want, or a definition eludes me, I'm OK with that...

I don't need to know how Khaos defines himself...

Curious? Sure, as I am about, uh, Steamboat, since I've kinda just met him.. Or Mortose, Alethea, or Zenchi, Jon, or anyone else...j)

But, I'm OK not knowing, whether they deny me, or I forget to ask...

But, I don't feel the need to explain myself... To be defined by others...

That's there problem.... lol...

If they want to define me, make the next post "To Define: Jestor" and I won't post in it...

And, the consensus will probably be I'm a "light Jedi"...

But that's because you didn't know me when I was younger...;)

And, can't see in my mind...;)

Im sorry Br. John...

I would never use a term like that offensively...

I recognize that term, but did not mean it that way of course...

As Mortose said, it is s term at FA, that someone (Khaos? WilliamKaede?) used in a thread here, don't you remember?

"Ask a Darkie" or something...

Can you give a definition of "darkness" that might be somewhat valid for someone who desires to study it? Like a "Dark Jedi"?

I cannot...

Better minds than I must be needed...

:)

You are more chaotic than explicitly "light" or "dark", Jestor. I wanted to say more but lost the image.

Hmm....

Well, thanks...:)

If you like, you can PM me more, so I can understand what you mean, no obligation, lol...

I don't want to derail the thread...

Of course, others may be curious as well....

Your call...:)

darkies/lighties are quite old terms, used to refer to dark siders and light siders.

The "J" is for Jedi... lol..

We respect you enough to have conversations and love the interaction...

But....

We get condemned for being "light", and all we are doing is being ourselves...

the concepts of dark/light/shadow jedi predate totjo.

We do not really specify exactly what we mean by "The Force" so that is left a lot up to an individuals interpretation, as Alan said we are orthopraxic.

To clarify, this is all totjo specifies: "Jediism is a religion based on the observance of the Force, a ubiquitous and metaphysical power that a Jedi (a follower of Jediism) believes to be the underlying, fundamental nature of the universe."

Convictions are more dangerous foes of truth than lies.

Hello Brothers and Sisters.

Ever since I joined TOTJ It started a deeper insight to my own well being, how I view the world and what I can do for TOTJ. I figured out its what i can do for myself, spiritually. Im not dissappointed in this post but seeing this demanded my attention. I wish I could type a 9 page paragraph on every little arguement, bulletpoint and relevent meanings from such musing from this whole post. I won't cause, I won't make arguements for people to reenforce thier pride or ego, is it both? I agree with one post that had to do with TOTJ not writing more about what makes us stand apart then every other mythology by many different names. But pointing the finger out to us and being a part of us saying we ain't got shit is really what your saying about you. Cause you are part of the problem. You want to make this a more credible religious establishment to what purpose? Then write something. No one is stopping you...I doubt you would far better being in a Catholic Church rewriting the best bits of the Bible and that to be worship or taking as gospel, your gospel. Its what you want out of it, Reflection, Brotherhood, a Friend...even if you really still smile when asked what your religious views are. My point is this, We do have a doctrine, no its not light, Cause when I take an Oath I mean it. Cause its part of my Trust system. I wont compromise on my beliefs cause you guys don't agree on Light or burnt toast. I believe its more of an Oath to yourself. IF you want to make the best of it and complain about the short comings, participate and author with your fellowship of like minded people a Credible solution instead of filling up all this space with banter. Cause if keeping this an argument and not a debate your basically saying. I like my problems going instead figuring out ways that don't resolve by calling members liars and charlitons. Surely, there is another way. One last thing. It says im a Novice, I think that creating the RANK system needs to be adressed. As in lets have some opinions without calling names. There should be only three, Leader who will lead us and be a figurehead that will represent us all. Member, a group that has like ideas and creates the side effect of brotherhood and invites others to join in the ways we adopt. IE Peace love and initiate. A 10 day warming party for those joining us. This System invites too many problems. Ideas? Love and peace brothers and sisters. Now lets start a debate worthy of our resolve...

Thanks
