Prostitution

My responses were 100% truthful, other than omitting my real identity on the forum. If I were a council member I wouldn't identify myself as such to anyone else. This is a side of me I can't openly express on this forum for obvious reasons. Just so you know, I haven't posted in this topic with my main account. I hope that clears up any confusion.

Thats kind of my point Ren. If megamind is just an ordinary member, why are the rules being bent for him. If megamind is on the council, then Im concerned about the fact that someone with such an obviously dysfunctional sense of human relationships (and that much unresolved emotional baggage), is on the council of a church that promotes compassion, tolerance and understanding.
If it is a "ruse" *shrug* why bother, why not just put forward that possibility and view point as one of the many that have been thrown around as part of the discussion.
I think our approach to rules is that they're guidelines. People could use multiple accounts in order to cheat and cause trouble. We quote the rules in situations like that. When I used my duke account which I use for testing and made a post with it, people were all up in arms... over nothing...

Ouch.
Brenna I've rolled the dice several times, and tried hard to find actual love. I've dated nothing but the worst sort of crazy people. I don't think women are any worse than men overall. I've just had one too many bad experiences to continue. I once told my doctor, "Doc! It hurts when I do this!" He replied: "Then don't do that." If I bought 30 Volkswagens and they all died just out of warranty, I'd probably switch to a some other brand no matter what experiences other people had with Volkswagen.
I didn't post with my main account because well, this is something very personal for me. I can't share this side of myself publicly. Imagine if Stephen Harper or Barack Obama said they liked visiting prostitutes, that would go over like a lead balloon.

So Megamind will go away and we'll never know the truth about him. Seems plausible but still questionable and quite honestly, disappointing.

Well then we all should have second accounts so we can talk about very personal stuff we don't want the public to know about us.

Sorry, megamind. Its harsh but I believe its true. Yes, you've obviously had bad experiences, but that need not result in such an intensely negative view of romantic relationships, that's a decision that you've made. Start dealing with the baggage and you might just figure out why you keep choosing women who are totally unsuited to you. As I said earlier, you're 25, you've got probably another 50 years. not to mention, there are 7 billion people on the planet. I'm pretty sure that there are a handful that you'd get on with just fine.
You are neither Steven or Barack, and in general, people don't try to hide parts of their personalities that they are ok with.
Maybe its just me, but I don't personally think any less of people who use the services of prostitutes, or the people who provide the service of prostitution.

And yet you find that such a thing caused a lot of contention at TJW...
It is about transparency and accountability not to mention that it also causes confusion and disassociation. Megamind is clearly doing it for personal reasons so the previous doesn't apply but when there is any sort of position of power that is being hidden then it's important...
There is the [hi de][/hi de] (without spaces) function to prevent non-members from seeing the content of posts but I would really be wondering why such a person felt the need to be so secretive...
But this is all a discussion for another time and in another thread...

the main issue at TJW which caused its initial shutdown was there were too many mods. Then, I didn't have time to look after the site, and got annoyed at people complaining like spoilt children instead of taking things like the grown up Jedi they were supposed to be.

The partners I've had that were sexually compatible were bipolar, and or psychopathic. My compromise is to have friends and pay legal prostitutes rather than let out of control bipolar psychopaths into my life. I don't honestly see what other options I have. I've worked my way up to a top position at my company, I make great money. That's a lot to risk losing. I am tired of playing the "let's figure out which STD my lover brings home this week" game, or the "let's see if I can figure out which gadget in my apartment got pawned this week" game. I can't afford to risk having these problems anymore. Imagine if I asked each potential date for a criminal background check, a psychiatric evaluation, and at least 5 references of people they dated before I would consider them as a partner. That is just impossible. I have no trust for people anymore no matter how well I get to know them beforehand, because I've had my trust betrayed repeatedly. What you call baggage is just what I call life experience and wisdom.
lol. Ive often told a couple of my girlfriends that they would benefit enormously from presenting potential boyfriends with a questionnaire and police check... perhaps there is a business opportunity in there!
Im not doubting your experience megamind, but i will say that my own perception of relationships and dating has changed drastically since I was 25, and that was only a few years ago! Life is filled with opportunity, don't write off potentially incredible experiences based on picking bad apples all before 25. The baggage I refer to is the reasons behind being attracted to unstable people. Figure that out, and you'll stop picking them.
