I find no matter what martial art you go with on a regular basis for self defense or to feel good at, that Tai Chi is a wonderful form of martial "Art" exercise. It is something that is clearly shown to have significant health benefits and while it is is non conflict in nature, it tones and keeps the body healthy. I am severely disabled from combat in Afghanistan and I do limited forms of Tai Chi to help keep me limber despite this.
