Of note, at one point they did have a "Black October" on there that was all about being a terrorist, gave some rhetoric that he/she couldn't find a decent terrorist group to be a part of, so thought they'd check out the SA to see if they were serious. As I recall, the group hounded BO and eventually accepted him/her into the training. I'm not sure what happened after that, as the site changed to keep prying eyes out.

That was a bit unnerving. Even if Black was someone trying to infiltrate the group, as SA originally believed, the fact that they were willing to embrace him/her disturbs me. :/

Since then, they've made it look like they are a sort of role-play group. But let's face it, they had a guy that was one of their apprentices undergoing flagellation.

It's astonishing how far things can get out of hand if some individuals carry things to the extreme. "Weapons of Mass Destruction", "flagellation", "terroristic", "death threaths against Jedi". That's really scary in one way, but on the other hand it sounds a bit like reading something from Dan Brown  But it is a sad fact that especially "Dark" groups often tend to attract some of the wrong people - meaning those who are fanatical or somewhat mentally unstable. The majority of groups however weeds out (or kicks out) these kind of people in their own interest. I'm suprised the SA didn't do more of that, but apparently they were reluctant about this BO fellow..... And of course the secrecy they hide behind now doesn't do much to cast away any suspicions one might have.

You might be surprised how many aren’t “weeded” out or are tolerated because it is believed they have some kind of right or provide some usefulness.

But there are fanatics in every group… we just tend to overlook or call it zeal when they are on “our side.” :P

Which is probably why I am seen (and others) as apathetic or too wishy-washy for some as we believe the spirit of Jediism resides in balance. All things in moderation my friend. :)

 . Oh really? Well I have seen a fair share of Jedi pedophiles, drug addicts or alcoholics which TOTJO attracts. And that is probably only the surface. The only difference to the loons at Sith web sites is that at Jedi web sites these are played more low key.

TOTJO attracts all sorts, like anything else. Being on totjo is no guarentee of being anything other than human.

I once spent a very merry evening watching the videos from SA that Sid kindly linked me to. I dont remember the last time I laughed so hard. There were tears rolling down my cheeks.

That said, for all our policy of tolerance, fanatics and loons can be the most dangerous people around.

I dont sorry, you could always ask Sid.

I do remember my favorite line though...

Sith Master Whatshis name - "Koruban is the ancient home of the Sith. What does Koruban mean to you?"
Apprentice - "well..... um... (long pause and some shuffling) Its a planet?"

I must admit though, i wondered briefly where in my house i might fit a throne from which to conduct skype meetings...in the dark... with my sunglasses on.

This is admittedly all very humorous, and has no doubt served as a source of great amusement (as no doubt this place will do for others) but I ask myself as to what purpose does it really serve to slag people off no matter how justified that may be or not. Does it make us feel good? Do we feel like a stronger group? Is this a way of shaking off nervosity? Which leads me to my next question as to what this has to do with Jediism.

Neither good, nor stronger, but amused. Does humor need a deeper reason?

Nothing really, yet its here. Like so many of the threads that are unrelated to Jediism.
