In response to the thing about training that you've never heard of.

If any one can find the thread "Why do they lie," it lists many entries with Jedi and novices alike putting accross things about lieing and argument techniques being a good quality and that you are trained in them.

I do not doubt your intellect, your sincerity or your conviction Bard! ;) But there are many opinions here and everyone is free to express them. Some take more time to reply then others. And there have been times when people have had their replies monitored. But I believe that those times were because of other things going on in the background and not necessarily for what was said in the thread. I could be wrong though… I’ve been wrong before! :P

Often times I find the replies to the threads to stimulate thoughts I might not have had before. That of course does not mean that end up agreeing, but it gives me a different point of view to consider.

One thought that I was having earlier when I said that, “it has made her harder than any young woman needs to be” I still think is true. I believe that if she had been born like everyone else then perhaps she would not have felt the need to push herself so hard. To “prove” that she is worth something. And honestly, it pains my heart to think that because of this she will always feel the need to “get her story out,” to prove that she has value and to always feel the eyes of the world on her. I have compassion for her, not pity.

I wrote one time about how justice is just polite vengeance. Real justice for her would be to not experience the cards she had been dealt. But since we can not change what is or has been done then perhaps we should just treat her for who she is and not what people see or what she has become.

Thank you Jack, that actually cleared up all of my questions and uncertainty. I even agree with just about everything you said there.

The only part I would say I sorta disagree with you on is that she is blaming everyone. She has stated in other videos that the love and support she has received was overwhelming. That's also part of the reason the original video no longer exists on YouTube. She reads the comments that people say about her...some of which are hateful (even on her second video) while others are quite caring. She also stated in either her book or one of her videos (can't recall which at the moment) that she doesn't get a feeling of hatred from everyone who sees or talks to her. She even has several friends at her college campus.

However, often times an entire group can show hatred even if they don't all feel that way. Most often this is similar to what Adder said. They do not want to go from being the bully to being bullied because they side against the "pack".

This is ridiculous...

I've just searched my topics list and that infact, every single post I have made is infact simply a complete list of people saying "I don't agree with you becuase of this that or the other reason" <--- This is the tactic that I know for a fact that you - as jedi - are known to use, and even claim to be good at. Or do you prefer the word "person" instead of Jedi? Edit: this is one of the skills that eh member was claiming that Jedi are trained in

Are you all training to be like the nay-sayers that are only to be found in the Warhammer 40k universe during the horus heresy?

The post that I made that has the most replies is, infact the one with people simply disagreeing with everything I have said for no aparent reason. Personal attacks. Infact, the origional person who made a personal attack on me here was Mr Hannigan. Isn't he baned from here now or something?

There is nothing wrong with not sharing the same opinions. In fact, what would be the point of a discussion forum if we all thought the same? :P

I know that I follow a certain path and have a long time. As to Hannigan, I couldn’t say!?!? :?

And I know what you mean about people disagreeing with you. I find that far too often I am on one side of a quickly losing battle! Hahahahahhahha :D Sure, it’s usually at work though! :P

I would think that one thing to keep in mind is that none of us are perfect. The Jedi path is something you work at (at least I do) every day. Not just in forums but in real life as well. And it prides me that my daughter has decided to take up this mantle of her own accord. Patience is one of the tools we have in our arsenal and it is a valuable ally! ;)

Jackofalltrades, everybody has posts that someone for some reason disagreed with. People are always sharing their differing opinions and that's a good thing. How else are we to learn or see other ways of thinking if no one ever shows us?

Look at my posts, there's always someone disagreeing, but that doesn't mean they're lying or that they're just posting to bully me. It's called a discussion and without differing opinions it wouldn't be very interesting.

Also, I've seen many posts where people have read and agreed to what you, yourself, had written. :)

I believe that Hannigan was not banned, but decided to take a break from the site, whether temporary or permanent I'm not entirely sure.

However, he is not a member of the Temple (fairly sure that his rank is guest anyway), so if he made a personal attack on you that has nothing to do with the senior members of the site.

As for the rest of it...people do disagree sometimes. Often, when in discussion forums. Disagreement is what makes it interesting!

If we all agreed about everything, having debates would be kind of pointless...having a forum at all would be pretty pointless... ;)

I agree that if someone voices disagreement it can be frustrating if they do not or cannot explain why they disagree.

But from what you said, people do tend to give reasons, but you just don't perceive them to be good reasons. That doesn't make them invalid, malicious or repressive...

Sometimes people simply have to agree to disagree... :)

The only thing I could suggest to show you what our studies are actually about is to suggest that you read over the topics.

We are not studying to be "liars" or "nay-sayers". As a Temple Member over 18 I would think that you should be able to do the Initiate Training if you want.

It starts here and even if you don't complete any of it you can still see everything that we see.
