Five Questions for Jedi Knights

It is possible that a church would toss someone out although I would hope they would try other options first. Like excusing themselves and leaving that person alone in the chapel pew while they go to pray for him. ;)

I tend to think as we are an online community and because we are so accepting of other people, that we would be more patient than your average church in your choice of city. That's just how I have come to see this community in the time I have been here. I understand there is a time when patience falls away but I see that as a test of whether or not your ideals break down when it gets difficult. Others may see this differently though and to each their own.

And what exactly is a "normal person"? I don't consider myself "normal" by any stretch of the imagination. I am who I am. I don't bother with what other people or societies consider to be "normal". We're all unique people with unique experiences. Whether I like his reason or not, I am sure SoulSeeker has a reason for what he does...even if that reason is for his own amusement.

Far be it from me to define 'normal', but in this case it means people who don't use condescending pseudo-socratic language to their (nominal) peers inside their own temple.

hmmm ... Hagakure is still seen as a classique for the warrior conduct of a Samouraï, but it was written during a period when Japan had been at peace for about two hundred years .... there were still samouraï, but they became philosophers and moralists (though they still carried swords symbolically) ... does this perhaps have a parallel to a Jedi order ?

And as for 'proving' our courage on the battlefield :

You ask what military feats we have accomplished to have the title of Knight?

I answer with this

War does not make one great

You're actions in war can, however.

I find that line very intriguing, because people use it as a means of discrediting war and those that fight in them. Not saying this was the case, but I thought I'd add the additional information that should accompany such a misrepresented quote.

Hi everyone!!

Are we still having fun?

One of the worst jobs here, actually, probably for all admin and mods, is the watching of all these threads when once you backed out...:pinch:

If we tire of SoulSeeker, or anyone really, quit responding to them... without fuel, he will tire, or kick up such a ruckus that he gets himself banned....

Yea, I'm "bouncer-esque even my day job, which has little need for one, calls me to the office to help calm people down...;)

I have that effect... Not so much a soothing effect, ;), more that undercurrent of violence....

I've bounced out of gas stations, bars, grocery stores, restaurants, (Jedi websites :woohoo:) never a physical church though... Don't attend them too often... lolol...

SoulSeeker wrote: Ah, but in line with the above point, to take on the name of knight is also a claim to greatness, and, as you added, arrogance.

To claim a title is different from acknowledging that you have been granted a title. But I see that you have again trollishly taken what I said out of context to try to prove your own point. To no avail, I might add.

Ah, this, I think, is your first valid point in a long, long, and very long series of red herrings, dodges, strawmen, and plain ridiculousness. I'm happy with this, because yes, you're actually correct here, for once. "To claim is not the same as to be awarded" . Well, you have the beginnings of an argument- now think about what this implies and means for my previous point. Carry your argument through, if you can, and try to debunk my statement. You see? You're learning

I made the point of it being given, as have many others, many times....
