Now keeping all this in mind, my question for Jedi is: do you consider yourself a knight...who has truly earned the title?

the implication here being none of us has 'truly' earned it...by his lordly estimation.

SoulSeeker wrote: My third question for Jedi is: do you consider your claiming the title of "knight" as disrespectful to those true knights of old Britain and why/why not?

leading. the term disrespectful is used to imply right off the bat that is what it is, and to force the respondent to reply on the defensive.

SoulSeeker wrote: "Knight" is an ancient and honourable title. Have you taken due care and consideration to its history and tradition before applying it to yourself? the title of "knight" is *not* a sign of humility, but actually it is the opposite- a claim to the greatness true historical knights (or warriors, samurai, monks depending on what you call yourself) exemplified.

again, who is this guy to judge anothers worthiness? i dont remember swearing him an oath of fealty, or stars on his cap or something like that.

SoulSeeker wrote: In conclusion, the purpose of these questions aren't to intimidate or offend, but I *am* interested in how you see yourselves, especially those claiming the title of "knight" or above. What gives you the right and what makes you modern-day samurai warriors, monks and knights?

emphasis mine.
also, i like how he kept insulting jedi then claiming it wasnt to offend. he did this quite a few times. its like starting a sentence with 'no offence, but'...you know what comes after is not gonna be good.

in short, this guy was good, a master troll. and reposting this is not intended in any way to reopen this old can of worms, just pointing out some things i noticed.

the style seemed somewhat different...less directly confrontational.

I had a feeling it was him. You're not the only one to mention to me that they didn't think it was the same person due to different style. But the annoying persistence at intentional stirring up of confrontational topics and irrational, disrespectful responses seemed, to me, identical.

LOL, I know, right?

It appears you were right FraterDavid. I must say that while his behavior this time did still seem borderline disrespectful, it did not remind me of any postings made by his two previous accounts.

DaathMenace/Death Star both greeted the group in the introduction section. They were blatantly offensive and made a lot of Star Wars themed jabs. They were also both named with a Star Wars themed name.

Soulseeker did not greet anyone but created topics that, while narrow-minded, did allow for introspective discussion. He was, in my opinion, not quite as offensive but showed a very black and white "I'm right, you're wrong" view. He rarely mentioned Star Wars, either in his name or in discussions, much less used quotes from the movies.

It could be that with every account he makes he is learning something. Perhaps his next account will be even more open-minded. Or perhaps he has MPD. Who knows?

Everyone knows Bob Hope is in fact a master of martial weapons and ninja style techniques. :D He must be, he's a knight right?

Ancient British knighting was a form of political control. The idea that they were so noble and talented that they were given special status is generally incorrect. I don't know the complete history so I won't comment on any exceptions, but the rule was generally rich and having land meant you were a knight.

I was quite happy to answer the questions, I was getting slightly irritated at his tendency to berate the people answering them though.
