I may have compassion for many, but have no love (the romantic kind) for anyone as of yet...there are several types of love, so polyamourous (poly=multiple, amour=love) relationships should be possible...it simply depends on the type of love...

Well, I think when most people talk about polyamorous relationships they are referring to the romantic, sensual type of love often called eros. It's true that there are different types of love commonly shared with larger groups of people, such as the love between family and friends.

And personally, my own personality and nature is inclined to only really want one significant romantic partner. That doesn't mean that I don't think polyamorous romantic relationships are possible, though I do think they are fairly rare, socially taboo and likely challenging to be part of.

I'd have to agree on that, they're rare, social taboo, and likely extremely challenging...or as pat benitar once sang "love is a battlefield"

"Battlefield." Yeah. We'll call it that. That's a better word than my usual choice.

I was re-reading this thread from the beginning and this post caught my attention.

Those of us who are Sci-Fi / fantasy fans aren't always relegated to the sidelines as the untouchable nerds. I know SOME of us fit the profile / stereotype: living at home until 35, in parent's basement, going to all the anime / Sci-Fi cons in character, learning Japanese, posters all over the walls, limited social interaction, and all the other bits. But not everyone. Some are closet nerds and public ... "normal" people. :) My high school experience was that of a public nerd. (Being voted Boy of the Month in senior year sure put my nerdiness in front of all 2,400 students! Picture up on the quad bulletin board for the entire month. Oy.)

All of that aside, I know some of our thoughts and actions put us on the fringes. Thankfully, that's slowly turning around. As long as we're there by choice, that's fine. If not, then ... do something about it! :)

I've given this some thought and research, I am polyamorous heterosexual homoromantic.

I'm straight and like Sean, I do have qualms when seeing gays together. But to each his(or her) own. I never have minded gays that much, other then displays of public affection even those I don't give much second thoughts about it. Once I remember seeing a lesbian couple cuddle and show love on a bus. And I thought to myself, wow I really don't see that deep of a connection between people much. And another thought came to me, people are people nomatter what. Gay, straight, bisexual, are all labels. There are no differences, only the ones in our mind. Like V-tog, we are one and one is all.

hhmmmm.... i'm attracted to what i would have to call genuine femininity, weather the person has a physically male or female body doesn't really bother me.... actually i just found this out about myself recently.... i wouldn't really put a label on my sexuality... i feel the definition may change with the specific person.

LOL.

I am only attracted to women, and only have sex with women, and I prefer to have sex with many women at once.

However I don't really feel attracted to female personalities, I am attracted only to male personalities.

In other-words I want a bromance, where we bang lots of to chicks together but don't engage in sex together ourselves.
