I don't understand why that would matter...

I'm guessing up... because more marriages...

That's not a valid reason, by itself.

A rate is a normalization for population, so that someone can compare the relative number of divorces in Alaska (low pop) with New York (high pop). Ex: 3 divorces per 100 marriages in 2006 in Alaska*

If the divorce rate changes significantly, then that could be indicative of some cultural trend reflected by the legalization of gay marriage, and hence worth investigating.

If gay people make up only 3% of the population, then they couldn't noticeably affect the overall divorce rate even if they have a 100% divorce rate.

I am heterosexual but polyamorous, and usually have multiple simultaneous partners.

alright maynoth, other polyamori. Please explain to me how that works in practice. Cuz if I broached that topic with the current almost-mrs desolous, she would laugh right in my face and tell me if I wanted to nail other women, I could do it all day long, but not with her. And I may as well put quotes on that cuz I maybe kinda brought that up in the past with almost exactly that response.

How are we agnostic about sexual orientation?

I think the word "agnostic" was meant to be taken as: non-polarized view (neither for / against, but not necessarily neutral).

Wow, I'm responding to a high admin .... I normally hide in this situation, but I needed to speak to help prevent misunderstandings (and hopefully not cause additional ones).

Right now a girl I am seeing lives in a communal situation with her 1st boyfriend and another girl, and I bring a girl I also see to visit, we just get together and have a good time and enjoy ourselves.

It's not an all the time thing, and I don't have any emotional attachments to any of them, we are just friends.

I could see myself though in an emotional polyamorous relationship with multiple girls, if it was a closed relationship between us.

Think of it like a group activity like DnD but more adult, and no D20's lol.

Mmmmm

Maybe more than one need to ask yourself...

Where is important your sexual orientation?

It only matters to you, and eventually your partner

What you do in bedroom, it's yours.
No one can tell you what you like and what you don't
No one can tell you what, how or when you fell.

If we are discussing legislation is different
But sexual orientation is a topic that only matters to the person itself
And don't need to be discussed.

I am what I am, I do whatever I like, and I don't need to tell anyone what I do or I do not
With one Or more partners in a bed

Sexual orientation, comes from your sexual fellings, from your taste, from your sexual activity
So why someone need to talk about it?.

It's not something you can speak in General
You can ask, to each one if you like, but no one need to answer
Because is personal, and is your life
I don't walk in the street with a sign saying i like french fries, or I like pizza,
So ....

It's something that I don't understand. Be free, do what you like.
Sexual oridntation? Don't know... That only matters to me and my partner

And if you think you are so free, so different and you need to be part of a group
Different than other... And you like to show it...
Its like ..... Discrimination?

In my opinion, what you do in a bedroom and with who, doesn't change you, and don't make you better or worst. And every time I read topics like this
I think, ... Well here we come, some onethink that is different...
We are all different
And hope ppl stop carring signs to show the differences

We are all differents
I hate think, one day we all split in groups and subgroups
Reasons, every single thing, can make you part of a different group
Because food, music, sport, any like

Spliting is not the answer.

We are all differnts in one way or other
What you like or feel sexualy speaking only matters to you and your partner
Laws don't know about love.

And you are free to love.

Maynoth, polyamorous doesn't mean "Have sex with multiple people". Sorry that's just how it seemed you were presenting it. Polyamory is about having more than one emotionally intimate partner. Having sex with several people at once isn't a bad thing but that has nothing at all to do with being polyamorous

Polyamory is more along the lines of... most relationships have a single partner and they both love each other, for the sake of argument lets say husband and wife. A polyamorous relationship would be, again for sake of argument, that man having another wife or, where that is banned, having a girlfriend. That man is in love with more than one person in an intimate way. That is polyamory.

As an aside point it also has no bearing on sexual orientation
