That's a loaded comment, and it stems from ignorance. Either you live in a very small "village" lol, or you're not accustomed to tourists. Please don't be quick to judge, as it shows a lack of understanding, as well as an unwillingness to understand.

He only said he's not met one he likes. But he's not saying he won't. I understand wanting to change his mind, but his values are his- shaped by his culture. If our culture doesn't mesh, it doesn't mesh.

As Americans, we really shouldn't be offended when others make a sweeping judgement of our country- at this point it's expected. People like us or hate us. It's all preference.

In person and online are entirely different though. He may hold the belief that if he met any of us in person, we still have the potential to disappoint him.

No. Just no. What he said didn't really need to be said. It didn't contribute at all to the topic, except to insult Americans. I'm tired of people being able to get away with just stirring the shit pot and making other people feel like crap. We're supposed to be a community here. Alienating half the community for a comment that didn't need to be made is ridiculous.

I'm not a nationalist zealot, I'm just tired of disrespect being shown around here.
