I saw several responses to his question. I also saw him not actually caring about those responses and insult people.

As he said, hes been here for 1 day. Anyone who thinks they can understand an entire orders thinking and beliefs in a day is... well... must be his mind powers.

Sarcasm aside...

I constantly see people who are looking for answers in a tick box form. The Jedi community is no exception. Do all these things in this order and you'll be a jedi and everything will be all good.

It doesnt work like that. And never will.

You have to put in a lot of work, most of it "unseen" before things start to click into place. But of course, the "physical" side of things is always easier, because you can see it, quantify it, show it off to others. The inner stuff takes a lot more effort, and you cant "prove" it easily.

And the average person doesnt like hard work.

My response is to everyone pre "I'm gone".

Kit your response has no depth and therefore not useful to the question.

Jestor, his post should have no bearing on how one responds to him because that post may easily be the one someone judges all the order on. Approaching the subject as though it is sincere and taking an opportunity to explain how ToTJO differs from the mythos provides others seeking to understand the order- it also makes you look far more respectable as followers of a faith that promotes "There is no emotion, there is only peace". You need to assume that your audience is never "just" the OP.

Likewise, his post may be the one everyone judges him on.

As I am just a guest here, newly returned from a long hitus from totjo and have had shaky relations here before. I did not feel qualified to answer what was meant for the host (council) to answer. This is not my temple. I am here as friend, affiliate, and journeyer to learn their ways not to presume to lecture and teach them. your judgment is harsh un-necessarily... Speaking only for myself I responded in the best way that was allowed of me, and offered an opertunity to ask specific question for specific answers that would likely be in my range to answer.

There is no emotion, there is peace...... Good advice. Did you follow your own advice when you judged your fellows in eddiquette? I do not ask too be argumentative....but your judgment seemed off the hoof without concideration of those you judge and their position in this topic.....

I am on ipad so I do hope my words are portrayed the way I mean them to be.... Which is in pursuits of constructive conversation.

Theres a certain irony in making what comes across as a snarky judgement call on the perceived inadequacy of someones response, and then informing an experienced moderator how to suck eggs on coming across as respectable and serious.

How is she supposed to respond "in depth" if the question has no depth? He asked a simple question, "Seriously anything real or practical here????". She gave him a simple answer in return, "Yes."

He asked what was practical about the Force. I could answer this in multiple different ways depending on what specifics he wanted to know. Asking for a general practicality of the Force is like asking for the general practicality of the Universe. There is no reasonable response unless you are able to ask questions and find something more specific to speak on.

I understand that you are trying to answer the initial question in a way, you hope, that would have made a difference for this individual. It just might have, but they did not stick around long enough to gain much information.

As for Jestor, he was just being honest. Now, many people don't like the truth because they just don't get it too often or they like to have their arses kissed instead of kicked. Yes, that one post might be what others judge him on. That can go with anyone here on any post they create. I know for a solid fact that people judged me differently when I posted in my Journal about my sex life and the decisions I made.

I would rather be hated for telling the truth than be liked for being fake.

In the US people are so concerned about Political Correctness that everyone is offended about EVERYTHING. I'm honestly offended that people keep getting offended over stupid stuff. I'm seeing that a lot here on the site. People are walking on egg shells because they are afraid of offending someone and being attacked in a forum. It doesn't mean you seek to offend someone or say something mean just for the sake of saying it. But don't sit there and judge someone for making a true statement. There might be a better way of saying things so they don't sound like a direct insult, but sometimes people need to feel that sting of truth to pull their heads out of their collective arses.

I'm going to operate as if he really did take off.

Wow. That was big and fast.

Having read it over, my sense is that by practical he meant inclined to action. Physical training and force power training, among other things. Okay. Fair enough.

My first thought was of a few Jedi of my acquaintance that profess to have force powers. Telekinesis and clairvoyance and the like. To date, I have seen no evidence to support these claims, but I do not believe they were waiting for me to sign off anyway. This guy might fit in with them quite well.

I am not really sure how I feel sending people to train in things I do not believe to be real, but again, I don't think my approval was on anyone's wish list.

Also want to make a joke about having some swamp land for sale.
