Through your comments I have received the answer I am looking for. Thank you and goodbye, I have no need to come back here.
 It is amusing how folks can read into things and come up with their own interpretations in order to troll. I never did say that I thought he was lying. Just that I am curious about it enough to question about it.

The truth is that while all of us walk the Jedi path, we are also on personal journeys that are unique to each individual. There are as many definitions and interpretations of Jediism (and the Force) at the temple as there are people who call themselves Jedi.
Meditation is generally regarded as an important aspect of Jediism and is explored in the Initiate Programme and further emphasized during apprenticeships. The benefits of physical training are also typically explored during apprenticeships.
Practical application of lessons learned is always encouraged and truly being Jedi means knowing when to take action and responsibility.
There are a few people at the temple, like myself, who practice magic(k), but "mind powers and magick" are not core components of Jediism as it is understood at TotJO. Some Jedi see no truth or value in these types of techniques/beliefs and choose to focus their energies elsewhere.
Jediism is a syncretic belief system, so Jedi are free to add elements of other religions, philosophies, traditions, or belief systems if they feel they are compatible with their understanding of the basic tenets of Jediism. Many also come to Jediism with strongly rooted personal or religious beliefs and choose to practice Jedi philosophy in addition to those beliefs.
Please take another look around. I think you will find that the majority of people here are sincere, genuine, and honestly dedicated to improving themselves, broadening their understandings, and enhancing their devotion to others.

Do we have to have anything "practical" here ?
Perhaps, in many cases the non-practical is more practical than the practical (which, as you may have already observed, is not as practical as it would seem ...)
Practical is not one of the things I would know about.
Simplicity, Patience and Compassion are ...
... most of the time.

I am a Pagan practitioner and a Jedi. I am always happy to act as a Consular for it is one of my many goals as a Jedi.
As for what Arramu claimed, that is up for debate. I could claim that I am Odin reborn and using a human body to hide from other celestial beings who seek my death. Would anyone believe it? Maybe a couple. Would there be a way to prove it? No, there isn't. Same thing with what he claimed, there is no way of proving it. I do not doubt that he speaks with Spirits and uses Magick, but it is not something to claim as practical versus taking a small glimpse at a community and stating "nothing here is practical."

... so, if there is 'nothing practical here' then one who practices magick would have a lot to work with.
