Seriously anything real or practical here????

Wow. That was big and fast.
Having read it over, my sense is that by practical he meant inclined to action. Physical training and force power training, among other things. Okay. Fair enough.
My first thought was of a few Jedi of my acquaintance that profess to have force powers. Telekinesis and clairvoyance and the like. To date, I have seen no evidence to support these claims, but I do not believe they were waiting for me to sign off anyway. This guy might fit in with them quite well.
I am not really sure how I feel sending people to train in things I do not believe to be real, but again, I don't think my approval was on anyone's wish list.
Also want to make a joke about having some swamp land for sale.
I would be willing to bet good money that this thread is still being read, whether said poster is logged in or not

The people I know who have any kind of "abilities" will never admit to it, or are very unlikely to discuss it or hint at it. I would think they have more important things on their mind.
And its funny, I think if someone were to show me evidence of telekinesis id be pretty impressed, for as long as it took me to stop thinking of ways to use it to prank people.
now about that swamp land...

See that's where you and I have vastly different understandings of our beloved Kit. Kit has depth, and her ability to communicate the path is more than adequate. Say o were in her particular position- I'd have made the statement that while I am still learning the ToTJO ropes, let's talk Jedi. From what I understand you seek practical application of Jedi Arts as they are outlined in the movies. As it happens I'm also of the opinion that the Jedi Path should draw more from the fictional verse and pull it into real life. At the moment I am learning that much of the philosophy that seems unpractical to you helps give us insight into the people we communicate with on a regular basis as well as build and understanding of ourselves. In order for anyone to be effective as a Jedi, these components are considered necessary before you can take the next step forward. As the old saying goes "You need to take care of yourself first", that extends to the physical and emotional self.
Kit could say it with far more finesse I am confident. She has a knack for writing you may not be aware of, but I am. Which is why I can say she needed more depth for her comment to be useful. Prior to his leaving in all of the posts there, I'm actually pretty sure she was the only one that could have salvaged the situation if she felt her comments would not be met with the same hostility she's experienced in the past.
And to answer your question Kit- yes I applied it. But change never occurs if you don't take the time to find a way of challenging the typical response.

Sigh, am I going to have to refloat it myself?

Likewise, his post may be the one everyone judges him on.
And by all means I did. But I read further to see how others responded. That to me was far more important because it speaks to the quality of people on the board. Why does that intrigue me? Because I've watched people walk out of orders due to responses to the trolls rather than the troll themselves. Likewise I've seen them stay because of well thought out responses to the trolls.

That is why you fail...
Dagobah jokes aside, I wonder if he won't turn up later, having found the more force powers oriented segments of the community. That will certainly be an interesting reunion.
Mindas told me he met a guy who claimed he could use the force to control the weather. I suppose no community is immune to that kind of thing.

As I would say to anyone. I hope he finds what he needs, not what he wants.
And no community will be immune. I personally wont discount that its possible. Yes theres no scientific evidence (and please for the love of well ripened bananas can we not have this discussion right now) but we dont know what we dont know.

Having known Kit for longer does give you the ability to say that considering you probably were expecting to get more from her than that. Since I have only seen her in a few other posts, I can only go by that little bit of information. The same goes with you Alethea. I never said you were right or wrong, just that the question was answered.
I don't expect anyone to see things the way I do. I do, however, expect them to have an open mind and be willing to gain further enlightenment, just as I do with everyone else.

I'm not magical, I don't have any super powers or for that matter are particularly special in anyway but Temperance? Now that is something practical that I can really use and in life its helped me to achieve some amazing results.
Telekinesis could get me on TV but Temperance will actually get me what I need.
