This is interesting! Irrespective of who is right or not, what Dark is or not etc., it seems the Brenna whose good looking avatars so many "liked" (especially our male members may I add), the Brenna who reacted in the way we expected her to react is no longer there. And what I see is there is a great difficulty for members here to let go.
What really gets me though is the almost condescending way some members think they know what is going on in a person they are experiencing over a few posts on a Jedi web page over the net. That never ceases to amaze me… just as the number of hobby psychologists who seem to suddenly pop out of the wood work to give her advice.

I happen to agree with Khaos and Mortose.
Pain is not dark. It's clear to me in your opening post.. I feel projected pain and fear. Even if you don't sense it yourself.
Even if this isn't how you really feel and you're trying to prove a point (to us or to yourself).
Even if you're just tired of pretending.
Maybe you've forced yourself to act in a certain way, so now you're forcing yourself to act in the opposite way.
I can't say what dark is, but I don't think it's this. I'd follow Akkarin's advice.

As I continue to search for the keys to my puzzle, you also must take your own journey. I am not suggesting darkness is individual, more that each seeking it must realize its greatest attribute in themselves. This will still not make you dark, nor will it give you extended knowledge of darkness in any form. This is personal exploration, a quest to understand, challenge and alter the self as you see fit.
Where it becomes a dark path, is when you begin to take rather than wait to be given. It becomes dark when it creates obsession and hunger that can not be quenched, though certainly you will try. It becomes dark when it begins to destroy those around you, be they enemy or friend; darkness does not care what it injures, breaks or destroys. Your path becomes dark when hope in the light sense of the word is dead, when corruption takes over and your values die for your hunger.

She is motivated by anguish brought on by others, descending into acidic flaming hatred, irritation, fear and so on. What I want to know is what she plans to do about it, though she has yet to be clear on that amidst her cries.

I doubt that she's motivated by anything other than her own laziness.
Though, I've not heard the full story. It would be foolish to make assumptions or judgments.

Initiates Programme, Lesson 1, Part 1: The Power of Myth: The Hero's Adventure
Joseph Campbell:
"You see this thing here this consciousness thinks it's running the shop -it's a secondary organ of a total human being. And it must not put itself in control, it must submit and serve the humanity of the body."
"When it does put itself in control you get this fog of the man who's gone over to the intellectual side - he isn't living in terms of humanity, he is living in terms of a system. And this is the threat to our lives, we all face it, we all operate in our society in relation to a system.
Now is the system going to eat you up? and relieve you of your humanity? Or are you going to be able to use the system to human purposes?
Bill Moyers:
"Would the Hero with a thousand faces help you to change the system?"
Joseph Campbell:
I don't think it would help you change the system but it would help you live within the system as a human being."
"...If the person doesn't listen to the demands of his spiritual (from the heart) life and insists on a certain programme you're going to have a schizophrenic crack up. The person has put himself off centre, he has aligned himself to a programmatic life and it's not the one the body's interested in. At all.
Joseph Campbell:
"If you think to yourself "Oh no I couldn't do that", then that's your dragon."
Joseph Campbell:
"Follow your Bliss."

Thanks guys, this has turned into a rather interesting thread.
Thank you Jon for your comments. “Projected pain and fear’ would be correct Connor, and spot on, I am trying to prove something to both myself, and a general audience.
After the recent discussions about Dark vs Light in the Temple I wanted to explore a few things.
Firstly a reminder that this is an anonymous internet forum. You can say anything about yourself and your beliefs here, but that doesn’t mean they are always a reflection of who you actually are. An experiment hampered a little by the fact that I am relatively well know. Had I made a new account and said these things, no one would have been the wiser and treated me either as a belligerent ass (thank you Khaos), or, as some did via PM, a newly minted member of the "darkside club" (you know who you are). A reminder to take whatever you are told by anyone, whether “light” or “dark” with a pinch of salt and common sense for you do not know who they really are. Ie think for yourself.
Secondly, everything I said is real. Or at least, was at one time true. Everything I said in the original post and subsequent posts are things I have thought, said or done in the past. This thread is more exorcism than exploration because I know my “personal” dark side entirely too well, and bringing them up long enough to project the feelings I had at the time was an interesting experience. Things in the past are better left there. Pain in itself may not be darkness, but it is certainly something we find a lot of when we lived wrapped up in as I did for many years and I did a number of things that don’t bear repeating, before I swung too far out over to the other side of the spectrum.
After years of feeling guilty over some of my actions and thoughts during my time of predominately choosing a negative focus, I’ve come to understand that overcompensating by being overly positive isn’t a solution either because it ignores the reality that I am both.
My purpose in unearthing these things was to explore and illustrate a point made in various other threads recently. We are not light or dark. We are always both. Regardless of the affiliation you suspect of a person based on their general leanings. Every action we take is the result of choosing which side of us takes precedence at that time. Ie, which side of the coin you’re seeing today, but I am still a whole coin. As capable of the actions of light or dark as any other person.
But more importantly, that neither is the subjective good or bad that we see in the myth. Smiling and being polite is no more “light” than swearing and being moody and unpleasant is “dark”. The affecting of what we think are the characteristics of either, is little more than role play.
As many have tried to explain with the apparent “cop out” of “They Just Are” they take on only the significance that I/we give them. My actions may be light or dark as judged by any moral system, and sometimes the same action will be both. But while I am still trying to define them as one or the other according to any external system of belief, I will be trapped by them.
What matters is that I remember, each aspect of me has its merits, each side IS a part of me to be embraced and understood, and each side is addictive for its own reasons. Time spent too long without balance or understanding creates a habitual dependence on that aspect.
I cannot base my identity of self on either one as neither is complete, and neither is who I am.
It has been very interesting to see how people react to me when I am in apparent emotional pain. Most enlightening thank you. That and the fact that we love to watch the drama of the dark with its apparently titillating cool factor.
Also, my apologies for my extraordinary rudeness and belligerence.
