There seems to be a lot of evidence that says ghosts aren’t real, but there is also a lot of evidence that says they are real. It is a lot harder to prove that ghosts in general do not exist, than prove that "I" had a particular paranormal experience ipso facto "ghosts exist", but at the end of the day it is up to ourselves on whether or not we choose to believe in the paranormal or not. If there are ghosts and we do not believe in them then they will still be there, and if we believe in them they will also be there, just as if they do not exist there will still be nothing no matter what we believe in. So like all opinions whether we believe in them or not is a leaf in the wind, of no real relevance.

I personally know they exist, because I have seen and felt it. That was enough for me and settled the matter.

I intended to try last night but I ended up to tired to try a Journey. I'll try this afternoon, I'll see if my animal guide will be willing to go with me or is willing to give me some advice on the whole matter.

You reminded me of a gentleman I saw when I was in college. I came home late one night and there was someone standing in the large front window, waiting for me to come home. It was already after 10 but I didn't think about it. When I went inside, no one was there. Another late night at school and I was eating dinner at the table. I saw a man walk down the hallway. Everyone was asleep. He was as solid as could be though. Granted I only saw him out of the corner of my eye haha.

I loved your explanation Naya. I'd have to agree that there's more out there than human and animal spirits. I think I simply relate more easily to the animal ones that it's easier for me to focus on those haha. Maybe the humans like to just butt in ;)

I think I'll talk to my guide before I try talking to Ray. If he's been there for nine years, a few more days won't be an issue :) He didn't directly approach me but I feel that things happen for a reason. If there's a place that I may offer my aid, I want to be available to help :)

rugadd wrote: Discussions like this always make me think of how different it is(or is not) that some people hear and speak to "God" or "Gods".

Can we really say they don't?

My personal belief here but all deities come from the Force. They are Force personified. It's simply another way for us to connect with the Force. Giving them form and personality makes it easier to interact with that portion. :D

bowenc1994 wrote: I've always heard from elderly people I've met that if the person believes they solely communicate with God it is a demon. A true communication with God requires a translator who has devoted their lives to learning to communicate. Apparently most that are spoken to cant understand. I don't really know if I believe that or what about it I would but I thought it was worth mentioning. Anyone have more knowledge on the subject?

I've heard this too, I think it's a left-over from the time when the bible was still written in Latin and required the priests to translate it and preach it to the commons. It was partly a power ploy by the Catholic Church. What I was taught was a little between that. That the priests DID devote their lives to communication with God, but we all have the capabilities to hear and speak with Him.

It's simply a different way of listening that many people cut themselves off. It's the same way the Shamans speak with the spirits of the worlds. EVERYONE has this capability. You don't need to be a Priest, or a Shaman to do it. You just need to be open to it. Open your mind and heart. I've spoken with an Egyptian and a Celtic deity when I was seeking aid for my Physical Training test recently. I've also asked for help from the Christian God when I was younger. For me, He always spoke in signs instead of words, but I didn't know how to listen then either. There's no HARM in letting someone else communicate with your deity, but you lose such a personal touch with them I think. There's no comparison for me. I use to sit in prayer and my image was of a statue, way in the clouds. When I do shamanism journeying, I'm speaking to these spirits. They have a body, a personality, a voice. BUT, like everything in life, this is MY joy. If yours is Christian and it's working for you, by all means keep at it :D (Just an example, I don't know if your Christian ;D )

rugadd wrote: Exactly! I "understand" this "message" because it was tailored to what I needed to hear and HOW I needed to hear it! All forms of divine communication are that...they are ALL valid...FOR THAT RECIPIENT...

Well said Rugadd

Very interesting thoughts Whyte Horse! I'm willing to admit that the things I see aren't all spirits. Most of the time I don't have the time to test what I saw. BUT I can't say that all of them aren't either. Especially when they talk to me ;) But then again, I am willing to admit I could be insane too :woohoo:

Haha I loved The Seeker of Truth SO many good quotes from there! And I agree with that one. When I was much more unstable in my personal faith, I let people convince me what I was experiencing wasn't real. Wasn't true. NOW I have the pleasure to test what they say against what I've experienced and I have the strength to decide for myself :D This is what the Jedi path has offered for me :)

(I love that song...although it's wayward :P ) and such a beautiful story! What an amazing experience! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for correcting me, Kit. It was 5AM and I couldn't go back to sleep. So looking at it now, there is a few errors. Not to mention it looks like I wrote the first chapter to "War and Peace". Sad thing is, I don't remember writing half of it... And I had a really funky dream afterwards. Anyway, I'm always happy to share. I've got plenty of stories in my 20+ years of being a Magick Practioner. :cheer:

I am going to clarify only one side of this

there are so many websites, and celebrities, paying for proves of true ghost/spirit events, or contact, or whatever you call it
So they don't exist, because nobody can even show a single true fact/event.
just only Chris Angel pay you 1 million dollars, if you can show him, something true, ghost, paranormal, spirit, or whatever (he set that after challeng to Uri Geller and Jim Callahan)

then there are more than 5 million in prices from several websites (all together)

and NOBODY, can claim that money, and it is there, 6 millions, waiting for a single prove of existence.
so INTERNET kill all the ghost/and spirits.

mediums used to contact spirits of dead people, charge you for that, so they are makeing a living, if is true, they can claim all the prices, and make more money than they do now.

in my opinion, Internet kill them all, spirits, ghost, shadow people, paranormal events, and more.
, or people like to lose 6 million dollars MINIMUM.

for me that's the end of all debates, if someone think is real... prove it, and catch all that money, if not, is another LIE

Or maybe it doesn't matter to me who believes it and I will continue to trust my own experiences despite what others choose to believe.

However, I don't recall this thread having been started to debate the existence of ghosts and spirits.

My personal experience in this matter is. . . limited to say the least. However when I was younger, there was a house we used to live in where I would, on occasion, see what I could only really describe as a floating dark purple blob that would move around my room all the time. It was only there sometimes, and only in my room. Whatever it was, it never did anything.

At the same time though, in terms of the realm of 'spirits' pretty much every where I've lived, I've had experiences of things that were put back in their proper place go missing and not be able to be found anywhere in the house for a few weeks, and then out of no where, it would appear back. The things were never anything of importance. It was always just a nuisance and something mischievous in nature.

I personally believe in angels, particularly guardian angels, spirits, even faeries. Just because we cannot see them doesn't mean they're not there. The fact that you can see this one makes me think there's a reason for it. Or maybe it's simply a special ability that you've got. Especially since it was so clear for you, that you were able to identify who it was. I wish you luck on your experience with this particular spirit/ghost/whatever-you-want-to-call-it.

Well if you assume ghosts don't exist, then this is how you deal with them:
1. Check for schizophrenia
2. If no schiz, then look for some psychological source such as fear, anxiety, curiosity, etc
3. If no psych source, look for external sources like other people who may be creating some effects through their behaviour and thoughts that is experienced as ghost-like by an observer.
4. If it's not other people, it may be an animal or plant or wind or water or something natural.
5. If it's not something natural, call it super-natural or para-normal and ask someone to help you investigate it.

Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.

Ah,...
When we moved into our current apartment for the first few weeks the kitchen drawers would open in the middle of the night, the cabinet doors would open and close (loudly) and I would look to see who was in the kitchen only to find it empty and since my bedroom door is directly across from the kitchen I would be able to see anyone coming or going ...when I tried to go to sleep I would hear music playing but could never locate a source and would only hear it in my room when laying down...some mornings I would wake up and see odd writing all over the walls, my first thought was that my eyes were messing with me...except for the fact the writing only appeared on the walls, not the posters, pictures or anything hanging on the walls and appeared to continue under said items...occasionally I would see shadow figures, not out of the corners of my eyes but directly...then I began focusing on expanding my own spiritual energy in a bubble around myself and filling the whole apartment...when I do this none of the unusual events occur, when I'm too exhausted or I forget, things happen...

I worked in a nursing home...and all sorts of things would happen...most notably one night I was in the dining room and heard a loud bang in the kitchen...I went in to see who was in there...the other door was still locked(and only locked from the inside) no one was in the kitchen, and the wall clock was on the floor...I hung the clock back on the wall, turned to walk away and heard a bang...turned around and the clock was back on the floor...I put it back up on the wall and hit it a few times to see if it would come off it didn't budge, so I stepped back and as I did I heard a loud bang that sounded just like when I slapped it and as I watched, the clock slid horizontally across the wall 6 feet and hit the other wall hard enough to break the clock...I decided not to put it back up afterwards...there are many more experiences I've had at home over the years....

I am inherently wary of anyone who claims "there are no" or "there can't be", "there must be" and "there are." These absolute expressions imply that we have reached the end of knowledge on a particular topic; that there is no more we can discover about the world in this degree. This is never the case--there are always many things we do not know, for every question we answer raises two more.

Not my area unfortunately, perhaps I should try and invite some

(actually I did invite a long dead monk once and I think I got possessed by him during my sleep but I didn't see any ghosts)

My only experiences which fall into what people call ghosts have seemed distinct as experienced internally, as if viewing an overlaid dimension by my mind instead of through my normal senses; of either subconscious imagination/vision/delusion, or the subconscious itself was used to relay some supernatural awareness. I prefer the later as it keeps the idea of the supernatural viable and within reach - but the downside of my situation is it is effectively impossible to prove as the only path is through individual experience. Which saddles the whole thing into non-physical.

My partner has seen a few apparently, before we met.... but none since (over 15 years now). She had even been attacked a couple of times; shutting doors, collapsing tables etc. I've never seen anything remotely like that yet.
