I don't see mental health as an issue. The approach to mental health is "they might do something therefore we have to prevent them" or "there is something wrong in our opinion, therefore we have to do what we believe is right". The opposite of the legal system, which punishes after the crime was committed, and contrary to basic human rights. What people call "help" is not necessarily helpful or welcome. My overall opinion of mental health institutions is that I'd rather be without them, and deal with any problems when and if those problems happen. I don't mind if people are crazy, if they're criminals they can be treated like any other criminal.

so your a fan of getting rid of guns and letting crazies run loose? Great... but then again, if they dont have a gun, how much harm could they do...

And so here is the solution..... Absolutely, unequivocally, make it illegal, impossible, shut the doors on.... Can not obtain, do not manufacture (for public) .... Ammo. Done

Everyone keeps their gun with a flower in the barrel.

Ammo can be home made...

Yes. Freedom of movement, of conscience and self-determination outweighs the need for guns. A need which only exists in the US and third world countries.

Stringent any weapon control. And quite frankly it's the thing I like most about this country.

Excelent.

Now do you know the trend of violent crimes, not just gun crimes, for the UK per million people?

This isn't a trick question. I'd like to see if there is a statice that it can be compaired to this in the US.

depends on what you call violent crime...

The population in england and wales is 56.1 million. There were 550 homicides last year. (this includes murder, manslaughter and infanticide) That's less than 10 homicides per million people. Considering the country's legal/prison system was built by the carebears and the police has close to 0 power, I think it's doing very well... People don't have shutters on their windows, doors are usually mdf or plastic with an old fashioned lock, most people don't have alarms and park their car on the road... Except for the organized gangs in large cities, criminals in this country are useless...

What would an ideal society look like in regards to gun control? I'd probably limit ownership to storage at secured weapon ranges. It wont stop it but it would reduce it.

Bullet proof glass, more secure premises, I'm not sure but technology could leverage a difference between what weapons are allowed/available and protection levels, hopefully. Or use your compound bow and bowie knife!!!!
