Disturbance in the force

In Daniel's post he referred to a negative feedback cycle. This is true when we consider the biosphere is essentially a closed system(in very large measure). The kinds of feedback we can measure are the rising temperature, which happen to be a direct measure of entropy. So now we have reached a point in history where humans are doing enough work that our biosphere acts like a closed system and gives feedback. Maybe in the past it acted like an open system and this has caused people to think that certain behaviours are of no consequence.
However, while we have increasing order through human work at the same time as increasing entropy through heat, it takes more energy to maintain order than is available and the system will give way to chaos.
When we talk about a disturbance in the force, we can be referring to unnatural temperatures, unavailability of energy to do work, or even the randomeness of the system and information.

I love you Daniel...

Is there only "bad"?
Have you seen no "good"?
In our efforts to improve our situations, we have caused some damage...
-Automobiles and their pollutants.. (exhaust, leaky fluids, tires, noise, etc...)
-cell phones and their pollutants ... (noise, waste from their manufacturing, distractions while driving, etc...)
-homes and their pollutants... (mowers and weedeater exhaust and oils, weed chemicals [weed and feed], heating, cooling, etc...)
Pick an "advancement", and its counter, its "pollutant", will exist...
But, we strive to improve these "advancements"....
-Automobiles, we now have electric cars.. They still have a carbon footprint, but even the manufacturing plants are "going green"...
-cellphones, the charging cord? Have you noticed the little light that comes on when you plug your phone in, even if its already plugged in? About 2 years ago, smart cords came out and they are now pretty standard... New smart cords don't use power unless the phone is hooked up and using it... Old ones used power as long as they were plugged in...
-homes, better insulation, better windows, more energy efficient appliances..
We make a mess, creating our "advancements", and because our lives are so short, we don't often see the repercussions of our actions....
Im interested how all these drugs we are ingesting are going to jack with future generations...
We will see...
We are not in any "worse time", in my opinion, than we are in a "boom time"...
We are simply in "a time"..
Making mistakes, and advancements....
+++++++++
On a related note...
Somewhere, Whyte Horse was talking about the amount of chemicals we spray, and mentioned weed killer.... And how its bad, yada, yada, instead of pulling weeds...
Yea, so now i pull the weeds instead of spraying...

Maybe in the past it acted like an open system and this has caused people to think that certain behaviours are of no consequence.
Excellent...
That is what im saying, only not so eloquently, lol...
And as you said, we are starting to realize....
Daniel, maybe I just saw your statement as an "sky is falling" claim...
I agree that we need to keep up, and actually increase our efforts to be less destructive of our environment....
In a conversation, this would have happened faster, lol...
So, I'll stop here..

Before the rise of the Sufyani, there will be a sedition in the Maghreb, the sedition will spread in every direction that no party or group could protect itself from it.
Disorder, strife, and fear will emerge in the Magrib (west)... Strife will proliferate. (Ash-Sharani, Mukhtasar Tazkirah al-Qurtubi, p. 440)
A kind of corruption will surface from which no party will be able to protect itself, and spread immediately in every direction. This situation will persist until one comes and says: “O people, from now on your leader is Imam Mahdi(as).” (Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi `Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar, p. 23)
Later the sedition which started in the west will arrive to Al-Sham, Syria, thus two banners will fight for control over the Syrian region; they will fight until their armies are exhausted. Following these events the Sufyani will start an uprising in the dry valley of Transjordan and moves to seize Damascus, he will gain much support and he will advance to capture the rest of Syria, defeating the two other competing forces. Once he captures the 5 districts of Al-Sham, he will send armies to Iraq.
And then I was reading about some chemical weapons attack in Syria that killed 600 people and there's millions of refugees there and our military is on the way, etc. Another interesting thing to note is Maghreb=(West, which is north Africa). The prophecies say that there will be all this turmoil there and there was a bunch of revolutions and now Egypt, etc. I wonder if this disturbance is the prophecy coming true.

A fast burn conflict!? Yikes. I wonder if it would be the end of the Islamic World or the entire World!?
For the prior, if the 'army' is trending from West to East, as it seems to read there, it might be the transformation of Islam into something more liberal perhaps!? So maybe it would take one standout individual leader to lead peace throughout the Mid East as a sign to convince the more religious Islamic folk of West Asia to change their beliefs too. Perhaps an Egyptian luminary can lead a moderate neo-Islam across the MidEast to refocus fundamentalism onto real peace.
By contrast, to fast burn end the entire world would need to bring the USA and Russia against each other in anger, which is not impossible but less likely now then it was in the years leading up to the 1980's.
I always worry that prophecy is interpreted through that subjective lens, so I'd hope if such was true it would be some refinement of Islam to close off any possible interpretations of violence and confrontation as being part of the religion.... and not destroying what could be the only example of complex life in existence anywhere in the universe.

I don't know what a fast burn conflict is... but to clarify, the prophecy, as mapped against current events, goes like this:Adder wrote:

1.
Revolutions break out in Tunisia, Egypt(twice), Libya, and Yemen. Major protests have broken out in Algeria, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, and Sudan; and minor protests have occurred in Mauritania, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, and Western Sahara.Disorder, strife, and fear will emerge in the Magrib (North Africa)... Strife will proliferate.
2.
Look at Syria for the past 6 months...Later the sedition(insurrections) which started in the west(Magrib/North Africa) will arrive to Al-Sham, Syria,
3.
300 soldiers trained by the CIA in Jordan laid seige to Damascus which probably caused the recent chemical weapon use by Assad. These soldiers crossed the border into Syria on Aug 17.Following these events the Sufyani will start an uprising in the dry valley of Transjordan(Jordan) and moves to seize Damascus, he will gain much support and he will advance to capture the rest of Syria, defeating the two other competing forces. Once he captures the 5 districts of Al-Sham, he will send armies to Iraq.
4.
???The Sufyani will then send an army to Iraq, killing 100,000 in Al-Zawra', and also will receive the support of non-Muslims

Those prophecies are more like observations of their own nature...either that or some extremist imam has convinced them to fulfill the prophecies themselves...
It's sad, at times I think the only way true peace will exist there would be if the entire region were to be turned into a glass crater....

Ya know, sometimes I wonder if this is some kind of jihadist self-fulfilling prophecy. So they can point to the koran and say see? Syria is at war, Obama is black, blah blah and so on and so forth and therefore you must join our army so Muhammaed will like you and you won't go to hell... something like thatRyuJin wrote: There has been turmoil and uprisings in that part of the world for thousandsof years...they're cyclical...an uprising occurs, things settle for a bit, then another uprising...
