We have Jedi that are Pagan, Christian Jedi, Buddhist Jedi etc.
Can't a Sith be a Jedi?
Can a Sith be a Jedi? That's an interesting question. As for private messages for the questons, John, I've been quoting them in my answers so as to provide the question that I'm answering.
Can a Sith be a Jedi... I'm not too sure. Currently I'm participating in the Institute for Jedi Realist Studies Introductory Training Program out of curiousity. They're encouraging me to answer questions from a dark aspect perspective where possible though, as they're interested in learning, too.
There's Sith and Jedi within the Shadow Aspect of the Force Academy. But can a Sith be a Jedi... I don't think so. Because they come under the same heading "Force Realist", I doubt they could. I think it's like asking if a Catholic could also be a Southern Baptist.

This actually got touched on here in the Faith section. I can't speak for the LaVeyan Satanists or the Jedi, but the two don't really share much in common by way of ideology. In fact I'd say they both philosophically clash. I don't think there could be a LaVeyan Jedi, but hell, prove me wrong!

You said power
Well yes, but that's all in the getting. What would I use that power for? That's the question. "Through power, I gain victory, through victory my chains are broken."
The goal is success in whatever we choose to level our sights upon. Mine are upon my aspirations towards getting fit and becoming a writer.

That possibility is typically limited or completely restricted by one's chosen personal definition of a Jedi (and even a Sith). My personal definition of a Jedi is one that is quite universal and adaptive for any perception or belief.
I'm not sure, but I would assume that any usual Sith would prefer to undertake a much more restrictive definition of Jediism, ruling them out of the association to the Jedi.

1) How does one "master darkness"? What is the process involved there?
2) Who decides who has "mastered darkness"? What makes them qualified to make such judgements?
I have other questions concerning this too...but I'm afraid that they would just sound insulting, so I think I'm going to stick with what's listed here. (for now anyway...)
