I'm with v on this one....I'm nearly 37 and never used it....never been curious about it...seldom am I ever sick...in fact I've never experienced any of the things you listed there...the few times I've been nauseous were caused by food poisoning...

I'm not condemning it's use...it's simply not for me...but I do agree it's safer than most of the other things people do....

I do find it interesting that some people say they have no desire to even try mari... That's like saying you have no desire to try swimming. Ever since I heard about the psycho-active effects of mari... I wanted to try it. It's one of those self-limiting drugs where you say enough is enough and then move on to other experiences like mushrooms or LSD, lol.

Here at TotJO we do not encourage or promote any illegal activity, especially drug related activities which can lead to serious legal repercussions

TotJO has no official drug-specific stance however

(Just in case some people might get the wrong idea within this thread - has probably already been said)

I can't really explain why I have no desire to try it...I just don't.

I guess that I like to be fully in control of my mind - similarly I rarely drink alcohol, because getting drunk isn't something that I would go out of my way to achieve.

I grew up around (and still surrounded by) pot smokers....I have no interest in doing something because "everyone else is doing it"...I despise doing something just to fit in....

I hardly ever drink alcohol...on the rare occasion that I do...it's at home and not at a bar/club...people get stupid, and violent when inebriated...and i'd rather just stay away from them....

We all have our ideas of good and bad ideas....

Being the only gringo in a bar after sundown an hour deep into Mexico wasn't the greatest idea I've had either...

Some people don't wanna play with their lives....

You realize a allergic reaction can kill a person, right?

http://www.aaaai.org/ask-the-expert/reaction-cannabis.aspx

This article doesn't cite any cases of death... But it does say there is a similarity between Mari seeds (nuts) andother nut.... As well as the pollen causeing similar problem with breathing as other pollen irritants...

And nut allergy almost killed my cousins daughter, and pollen allergies affecting breathing, causing shortness of breath could as well....

These allergies seldom kill anymore... But what chance is one willing to take?

Because it is a drug and it doesn't feel that great. I've tried it...many times, but I HATE coughing. It hurts my lungs to inhale smoke and it's just not worth it. And eating it is even worse. If I ever smell another pot brownie

Of course, the people I'm around love the stuff. It makes them feel good, opens their minds, helps their tummies, etc. The point is people are different and some people aren't made to do it or even try it. That's the beauty of life.

Well..it's a plant, but that is semantics. ;)

An alternative to smoking the herb is to use a vaporizer. Much gentler on the lungs and healthier for them too.

If the edibles are prepared with actual ground up pieces of marijuana it can taste like crap. However, if Cannabis oil or butter is used instead, much much MUCH tastier.

This is just my experience and of course may differ from another's. :)

Interesting. I've heard of vaporizers, that's probably a good way to go if you're inclined. :)

As for the edibles, I've tried it twice (just to confirm my first experience was correct) and they tasted really good, but they made me sooo sick. The second time I was out (like a total zombie with flu like symptoms) for 24 hrs and for two more days after that I felt like crud. Just the smell of fresh bud...  I wonder how many people get symptoms like that? Probably not too many.

I can't wait until the rest of the country legalizes it, though. :) It'll be fun to see the crime rate drop like a rock.
