A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin - got the whole lot of them from my kid for the holidays and started reading last night (have never watched the show).
No commentary yet, although, for only being 100 pages in, there has been so much violence already xD

It is a great book
It may be long but seriously, stick with it.

I will. They say it's the greatest novel ever written but I'm not sold on that yet.
I got a hard cove copy for $.75 at the library used book sale. How can lose?

I will say that it's possible to get lost because there are sooo many characters in it.. so might be handy to make notes of relationships for if you get confused.
It won't let me have a blank signature ...

Been reading everything from a screen for a few years, so I picked up one of my old softcovers and dived in, from 1989, William Gibson's 'Mona Lisa Overdrive'
