Why are they donating out of their net figure, don't you guys in the USA get tax breaks for donations out of the gross figure? I thought the tax break was 'the' reason for those sorts of donations.

The money we make for what we do is all net. We pay taxes on it at the end of the year. It's a business, not a job. Yes, it is tax deductible and I imagine they do write it off.

i absolutely agree that not all are worthy of my ire...there are plenty of wealthy people that are kind and generous and selfless....unfortunately they tend to go unnoticed...

the ones like those in this article are the ones that must become fodder :evil:

The problem with this line of thought is that things get out of hand in short order, and who decides.
