Ah… well, not being a liberal or a democrat, seldom in recent years do the individuals I vote for come to office. Lobby’s allow for my opinions to be heard even though the “other guy” won the election.

That way, no matter what, all can still have a voice.

Representative democracy means that the leaders are the representatives of the people. NOT just SOME of the people.

If only part of the population is represented and the other part's only hope to have a voice is to also have money, you're not in a democracy.

Representative democracy means that the leaders are the representatives of the people. NOT just SOME of the people.

They represent the people of their area. And it only takes a majority to win. So, if you’re elected by being voted in by sixty percent, what are the other 40 percent suppose to do? Set back idly and just “deal” with it?

To me, democracy means options. And yes, if you have a lot of money your voice can be louder. But it does not mean your voice will always be the loudest. Otherwise, do you really think a bunch of large, money greedy corporations would have “put” President Obama into office?

I've look at all sources and your's seem to be forced opinion.

I don't see what they can learning from this thread.

Sorry to say I don't see a reason to take the time. Proverbs 26:4-14 (New Living Translation) When arguing with fools, don't answer their foolish arguments, or you will become as foolish as they are

Just my opinion though. ;)

The other 40% are supposed to be represented by that person who was elected by the other 60%. It's not one side vs the other. People come together for a day and "discuss" who they feel will best act on their behalf.
If those 40% are not being represented, they are not part of a democracy.

Who gets put into office is down to marketing, not lobby (though the same people can finance the marketing operation). the lobby's job is to corrupt those who already are in office. Obama got lucky with social media and not-so-great opposition.

Hahahahhaha :woohoo: That is one way to look at it. :P

The other 40% are supposed to be represented by that person who was elected by the other 60%. It's not one side vs the other.

True, it’s not supposed to be one side against the other, but often times that’s how it ends up. And I don’t agree with that mentality. But still, are you saying that if someone that is not being accurately represented by their representative should not be able to have a voice?

Because that is how Lobbies can be viewed.

I think that if you negate or eliminate the possibility of having your voice heard then it is no longer elected democracy… but rather more like an elected dictatorship. If people want to live under that it’s fine with me. But, it would not be my first choice.

Consider yourself warned.

Most of the rules are written so that they are open to interpretation. I didn’t notice any mention of “banning.”

What I did read is…

TOTJO FAQ 29 (2013 Edition): TotJO is a place for spiritual enlightenment, self discovery and discussion of many varied and wide ranging topics. Here at TotJO we debate arguments not personalities and ideas instead of people.

I will say that the post in question did seem argumentative and I read it as if you were insinuating that you were debating with fools. Which would be in violation of article 29 and could be considered as an attack on a person or a personality.

I am not warning or anything like that. I am just trying to answer how I would interpret what was written.
