Im not unfamiliar with David Ickes theories and I'm willing to believe in the possibility of it until proved otherwise. You have had an experience which you obviously do want to share with people or you wouldn't have brought it up.

I am all ears.

What you yourself experience and realize is infinitely more important than anything I could say or do for you.

If you believe that then why have you tried to share it with people?

Because I am a fool, and persist in my folly :)

If you dont believe it will happen, why do you keep trying?

If we spend our effort chasing something we don't believe then we set ourselves up for a lifetime of disappointment since we never reach our goal...

Because I have to, if you knew realistically you'd probably die on a deserted ocean island, would it stop you from trying to survive and be rescued?

I probably will not succeed, in all of history only two other humans have completed my goal, and there are 10 people alive on earth that have made any meaningful progress towards it.

They have a lot more free time to dedicate to it than I ever will, and the odds I could ever get close to them is probably non existent.

Even if I won the lottery tomorrow, and had explicit instructions on what I needed past the introductory stages (which I don't) Most likely even then I wouldn't have enough time remaining if I spent 12 hours a day every day for the rest of my life.

Still I refuse to give up, and will do my best.

My but you do have a very interesting idea poking up here without framework or reference. Two people (that you know of) have succeeded in reaching the goal you desire to attain. I would like (if you feel inclined) to know what that goal is. It may be that I (and others here if you share in public) will also find it worthy of pursuit.
Joseph Campbell studied the religions of the world. As initiates here we study his views and learn how he integrated or rather interpreted all the mythologies of the world through his world view filter. We do tweak or even construct our own world view filters when we learn new mythologies. Some people seek to filter out only that which is incompatible to their own value system. Others seek only to learn that which is compatible.
I believe it is wiser to try to learn everything you can and practice in your life that which may benefit you and the world around you eventually if not today. Knowledge is power and with great power comes great responsibility.

Chuck,

I've tried in the past, it only results in a community wide lynch mob style argument.

If you can agree to keep anything I discuss with you private and never mention it in public, you are free to PM me and we can discuss this in private.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I am not willing to find out, I try to keep things I post on any Jedi site to a minimum.

I am currently being black mailed by a member of another Jedi forum even, that's how extreme the craziness goes.

I've found that if I talk to people one on one, then it isn't so bad. If they aren't interested the discussion ends, if they are it continues. However this prevents community wide argument.

Take this for example, one comment turns into a massive debate and there was absolutely no reason whatsoever for it.

I have always held at least a few opinions that are not always viewed as “popular.” But, over the years, I have discovered that it is not always so much what I say as how I say it.

And it took me several years before I realized that I was the common denominator in the equation. ;)
