lol, not really care?

My wife is not a fan...

I could be Christian, Buddhist, Jehovah's Witness, it wouldnt matter...

She is just not into the whole 'religion' thing... From our heated 'conversations', it isnt any particular thing, its the having a belief in something...

She is a good person, she doesnt need some 'made up belief' to get through life... Me either, I just enjoy the mental stimulation (read that as enjoy beating my head on a wall to both, understand, and be understood, lol...)

In the end, I think we have to do what makes us happy..

Being with my wife, makes me happy... (most often, I mean come on, we are married...;))

My children, make me happy...

My family makes me happy...

Being a Jedi, makes me happy...

Martial Arts makes me happy...

But, she will never like the Jedi... So, we just dont discuss it often...

I give where I think I ought to, and I stand where I think I ought too...

Life is about balance...

Just doing what I can...:)

On walk-about...

Sith ain't Evil...
Jedi ain't Saints....

I told my parents I was a Jedi about 10 years ago. Being staunch Christians, they reacted very negatively. Nowadays we just don't talk about it. I do my thing, they do theirs, and that's it.

In terms of my mum and dad, I would need a seance to reach my parents so that issue doesn't exist!! (awkward silence from the pulpit!!)

It's probably fair to say that both in Europe and the Americas the standard type religions, Christianism, Catholasism, Judism etc. etc. are in some decline, particularly with the younger generations. On that note many parents still living have a variation in streanth of belief in relation to any particular religion and that is always a difficult wall to break through and gain some objective understanding for any person not following the expected ways!!!

My point is this, anyone who feels it necessary to try and explain their thoughts and faith to their family should remember what TOTJO really is. By that I mean that no one in the order following the Jedi way is assuming subservience to 'One Omnipotent Being'. Despite there personal religious stance they are surely accepting that there is a overiding force that binds us all within the universe and that's really it.

Personally I'm an Atheist, however I feel there is something within the universe that keeps the status quo that is the culmination of all the sciences we know of. Based on that feeling alone, for me I don't need to share that philosophy with anyone unless they ask.......in which case I'll tell them!! Burn Bright!!

That is one of the things that I want to get across. That Jediism and this temple has changed my life for the better. I even had a teacher send me to a guidance counsellor because they thought I'm in a cult. Like seriously? A cult? Might as well call Christianity, Buddhism and Islam a cult........well I think they do that with islam a lot.

All of my loved ones reacted well to the information. By the time I told them, however, I already knew how to explain it well enough (I learned by informing my leadership of what it was, and the local chaplains so that I could be their knowledge based if they ever found someone trying to exploit it for days off and privileges and the like). When I met my husband for the first time, I told him within seconds of meeting him because he and I were in the same unit. "In the event someone has told you already, or someone might end up telling you, I'm just going to go ahead and clarify- yes it is true that I follow the Jedi Path". We had a VERY small unit, so there weren't many secrets between any of us.
