Feminism, affirmative action, and any other ism all summed up in a single sentence...

Forced equality is not true equality...

Realistically, I don't think equality is attainable. None of us are the same. You can have the books/laws/systems say whatever you want, but the human factor will always swing things one way or the other. This isn't to say that we shouldn't strive to improve, but we should at least be willing to admit that writing something down doesn't make it a reality. More often, just an excuse for "justifiable" outrage or disdain.

So true...

I am the most perfect me, you are the most perfect you, however you are the worst me, and I am the worst you...our perception/understanding of perfection/worst can be vastly different, thus guaranteeing inequality no matter what we do...

But yes it is a great ideal to aim for...

I love trying to solve paradoxes...I know they can't be solved (otherwise they wouldn't be a paradox) but the challenge of solving something no one can is too tempting to resist for an analytical mind...

I like it when people mix together equality and fairness. It reminds me of my old English teacher used to say: "If I'd treated you all equal, you'd all have a 'D'. I treat you fairly though, hence your different marks. You are not equal, only your rights are."

We are equal in that we each deserve the respect, and love, from each other that we would/should give anyone...

As we get to know someone, that respect, or love will grow, or die off...

But, a baseline of respect should exist for everyone...

And it does, on a personal level...

It also exists on a professional level, but, it is quicker to rise or decline... As it is performance based...

The personal is easier, be yourself, and all is well...

On the personal, be yourself is also true, but not often the norm, people expect more and more...

If I wanted to be a ballerina, no problem, but have to realize I will not be a graceful as someone more flexible, or that has been doing it their whole life...

I would be better (possibly) than someone who began a year from now, but then again, they could be a natural...lol...

Certain things will define your course... Your lineage first, then your environment, then, yourself...

If Wendaline wants to discuss equality, I am all for it, after she gets me my sammich, beer, and my slippers, I am all ears...

Just kidding, lol...

No on can make me a sammich, bring me a beer, and fetch my slippers like my wife, sorry Wendaline, lol....

Ok, still kidding!!!

To be fair, I cant be as good a firefighter as Phortis, but I dont whine and clamor for it, I accept it... If I wanted to, I would try hard to get into shape, and study for the tests...

And I still may fall short on the IQ, not being as smart as him... (of course, he runs INTO burning buildings, not too smart, courageous, yes, smart, no... Thank you Phortis for doing what you do!...;))

But, being a white guy, I cant clamor that the test is biased, or that Im not as strong as him, because Im a white male, I have to be his equal in every way (at least pass the test)...

IM sure the logic isnt lost on any of us...

And a female firefighter can do many of the duties he has, Im sure, and not just the paper work, or cleaning, or cooking...

But, driving, or using the hose, or being the fire chief, or, or, or... I dont know what all fireman have for duties, but, it isnt only carrying 250 pound people...

Arent we a nation of over-eaters?

Wendaline cant carry 250 pounds, can Phortis carry 375? 400?

But, we all have to try, we cant cry 'foul' because we are not the cream of the crop and suited as well as he-men like Phortis...:)

On walk-about...

Sith ain't Evil...
Jedi ain't Saints....
