I agree with Ren. All women should be barefoot and pregant in a kitchen cooking up delightful snacks for their Masters...or if they want to work (God forbid) their only career choice should be prostitution. Dumb broads. Don't they know any better?

Because there is nothing right (NOTHING!) about equal pay for equal work. ;)

 Just had to get that off my chest...my horrible, horrible womanly chest. Which reminds me...where's me free stuff? :P

Of course, I did like the video. I think he brought up a lot of good points. The child custody "system" is bogus. Some dads are much, much, much better parents than the moms and vice versa. The kid should go to whoever is better at parenting. Though I should point out there are cases (a lot of them) where the woman as sole bread winner had been ordered to pay alimony and/or child support. The system is getting better.

But there are cases where women aren't treated equally. I rarely ever have men willingly listen to me at work...even when I know better. It's my job and I do it well. But noooo why would a man shake my hand and work with me? They look through me and for a guy to talk to. Thing is, all the guys at our company take orders from me. Even if I know more, they get more respect.

Strong men are admired. If they get a lot of tale too, they're studs.

Strong women are, you know, that B word. And if they have a lot of dates they're that S word.

The world is a silly place.

Gotta love some of the things you say ren...so brutally honest AND amusing at the same time....

I can't stand feminism, nor affirmative action for that matter....if someone gets the job it should be because they're the best one for it...not because they fulfill a quota due to gender or race...the local auto parts store has a woman that works there...she's more knowledgeable than the men...guess who I go to...the one with the brains...at least with her I'll get the right parts...

My brother in law has custody of his kids from both previous marriages, yet he still has to pay the ex-wives child support...how fair is that...

I read an article about a male doctor who's alimony payment was equal to 60 percent of his income so she could continue living the lifestyle she had become accustomed to...that's total bs...once the marriage is over and she's already taken half the communal assets why should he have to continue supporting her @$$ when they don't have children?

I have nothing against strong women...in fact I like it when women can fend for themselves...I don't like it when anyone forces their discriminatory views on me or anyone else...

Now, where's my edible treats?

The thing it boils down to, and the conclusion presented in the video, is that we should never push for 'more rights' in anything. We should be pushing for equal right in everything...

Feminism has achieved a lot, but it is time to take a different approach...

While two people might agree on the same course of action (same rights), their reasons (wanting more rights instead of equal rights) also matter...

Im am tired of being kept down!!

All these women complaining about barefoot and pregnant, shoot, I'll stay home and cook, clean, and raise the kids...

I do think I have birthing hips, but, ya know, biology has not yet presented me with the chance to get pregnant... My wife, dangit, gets pregnant on a whim...

And IM tired of being a white man...

I am looked at as an oppressor... Im bald headed, kinda gruff looking individual, who is just a cuddly teddy bear trapped in a bikers body...

============================

Ok, serious, I would love to stay home... Cant wait for retirement and grandkids! Well, I can kinda wait, lol... But, I look forward to it a bit too...;)

Men sat at the top of the teeter totter for most of history... But, most men will say, grudgingly, that the missus has the power...

Yea, we go out and bluster about "wearing the pants", but I seldom see that as the case...

Easier not to tick off the ball and chain...

Ren and I discussed this a few years, ago....

Certain people are just plain better suited for specific jobs...

How does a black man require different testing from a white man? Firefighters, and police in my town, black get different testing from whites, because few can pass the standard testing...

Is it slanted? The testing? I dont know...

But, to my teeter totter analogy...

Males have been at the top of the teeter totter, holding the others down, and the world is geared toward what, and how, we think...

If women/blacks/germans/asian/pastafarians had the world under their power as long, then they would have it slightly canted toward their important thoughts...

And, with these 'equal rights' programs, they are trying to rise to the top of the teeter totter...

They should be focus ing on more self empowerment...

Unfortunately, "white power" is frowned on, yet "black power", and "feminist rights" are not...

lol, I just refer to it as reverse racism, or sexism....

In trying to lift themselves up, they are pushing me down... lol...

Ok, who has a cookie recipe?

And Wendaline? I love that avatar!

The problem is this is not what equity means. The word you're looking for is... equality. I agree with phortis as well, however equality is the equal opportunity to get to the fire department test... And to have an equal test. No "women and blacks are exempt from this part".

Basically, equality through meritocracy, not "equality" through affirmative action.

Life isn't fair. Never will be. We can do what ever we can to make opportunity equally available to all but life isn't fair. It is the human spirit the strives, survives and excells. It's tough and I don't like it but that is the way it is.

Should we work to stamp out injustice, bias, dicrimanation? Yes of course but it is up to the individual to take the command of their lives and make the best they can of it. History is filled with people that overcame impossible odds and succeeded.

We can only do the best we can with what we got.

One thing that I have always found interesting is how people form groups, separate themselves out, and suggest they are not being treated like everyone else. If you pull yourself out of the mass, then you are treating yourself different right off the start. Not the same, but different.

I do not believe that we are all equal. I do not believe we are all the same. I do not believe we should all be treated the same. We should all be allowed the same opportunities… but that is different.

There are idealist in the world and there are pragmatics… neither one is entirely correct and neither is wrong. They are different, just as we each are different. That is how the world is. Fair, rights, how it should be... These are all ideas that reside in the individuals head. They are not written down anywhere nor are they guaranteed by the universe. But if we all learned who we were; accepted it and learned to love ourselves for who we were; accepted that others are going to be who they are; and then behaved in a manner which we would appreciate ourselves to act… then the world just might be a better place.
