Enjoy that perspective, Brick. It's certainly a lot easier on the heart.

 Don't worry, there's plenty of selfishness in me too

Knowledge.

Partly for knowledge's sake, and partly because I think it's tough to know one side of a coin without knowing at least the general outline of the other.

If I were to choose to be really vulnerable, I'd probably add that it's also partly out of fear. I'm seeking to disarm my fear (which is way too based on the fiction, since that's the only reference point I have for Sith) with knowledge.

Edit: .... And if I were being *really* vulnerable, I'd add that the "I'd throw someone in front of a train, guess what's in my toolbox" post scared me pretty good, too. I mean. I cried.

Genuinely out of curiosity and not challenge:

If you (anyone) identify as a Sith, what are your reasons for being active on a place called Temple of the *Jedi* Order?

Sure you really want the answer to that?

I was hunting, then my prey moved on and I found myself liking the wallpaper.

I'm sure. I don't ask things I don't want to know.

Hunting what? Have you found more prey here? Should we take this to pm?

Don't let Snowy fool you, she's not nearly as fierce as she makes out. She's a big cuddly softie deep down, and a good friend :) , so long as you don't annoy her too much (then she gets out the toolbox) ;)

It's interesting to see that no two sith will be able to clearly agree on what being a sith means anymore than what two Jedi will agree on what being a Jedi means. I'm sure that must tell you something. :P

As far as the self examination, if someone doesn't think the IP's purpose includes that, I'm not sure what they've been doing throughout that period because it must not've been the IP.

I don't call me a Jedi, other people do. I might as well follow "Ethanism" which is the path Ethan is on (me). I have my own approach to life which is just as different as anybody else's is from each other. I think we all would just like to think we adhere to an ideal that we romanticize either way (the Sith ideal is just as romanticized as the Jedi if you ask me). It's just another layer of facade to strip away to become honest with yourself. ;)

Nah. There was one person in particular that came and went... the kind of person you didn't want around. Trust me, hun, I like you enough to stand and defend you at this point. You and the folks here will never have any trouble from me :)

Me personally, no, I haven't done much IP at all. I'm still slogging through my Campbell. I'm sure my thoughts will change as my experience does.
