Inconsistencies, Integrity, Misconceptions; Area's that need addressed

It's like one giant category error to me though. It seems to be an assessment of individual member activity to create some concept of 'Temple' issues. And sure, the Temple is the members from one point of view, but using the individual activity is only individual activity? So if the 'Temple' is being treated as a single entity to assert from concept of it having issues, then the limits of investigation to that end really would seem more suited to the structure and function that is the Rules or even Offices.... like an audit or performance managing review!?? Which the OP does not have the capability to undertake beyond superficiality.

So in defence of the members, I'd say that people get different messages from posts, and only have so much time online to begin with, and post for different reasons. Inconsistency really only becomes a worry if its for the same thing (which it was not in your experiment), and then really only if it goes unacknowledged. I only post here because I like to think one day I'll look back for the express reason of seeing my inconsistencies, or changes.... as part of learning. These things have nothing to do with integrity.

But ignoring all the noise, the issue of individual's having inconsistency in their path is very common, and in fact I'd imagine we all have it in various degrees. Some is more pronounced, but that is often only when it doesn't happen to be shared by oneself... as its very easy to be accepting of our own inconsistency while being critical of others. But isn't that itself inconsistent!? Does knowingly being inconsistent actually become an integrity issue!??

A tagging feature? You want to give Ren more work?

Damn, beat me to it.

Anyway, I didn't read the second page....

From what I gather from the OP, you want more Knight involvement in the Forums to guide conversation?

Why? The knights are busy enough with their apprentices, that's the system we have here.
If someone wants that kind of guidance - do the IP and work for the opportunity to start an apprenticeship.

*sigh* more clarification perhaps..

I don't see being at this forum as being a big part of the Jedi path - 70% (there's a rule about this somewhere) of what we do here is rubbish (I'm going to bump that up to 90% for the Chat)

"Jedi-ing" is done in the IP, with your apprenticeship, and in the meatspace.

The bulk of the Forum is just chewing the fat with (semi)-like minded people.

Being on a 4WD Forum doesn't make me God's Gift to offroading (If you think things heat up in the Jedi fandom, go ask about 2" lift kits, or better yet, hit up a fitness forum about your favourite brand of BCAAs. Now THAT is controversy! )

Im not going to address everything raised, for a number of reasons, but I would like to say a couple things.

1 - This is a volunteer organization. Those who do stay and contribute give up their personal time to be here and participate in threads and "monitor" and help keep things running where they can. No one is required to read every post, or should be chastised for not participating in threads that they do not want to contribute to. I, and many knights, read every single thread. I only ever contribute when it's necessary or when I have something useful to add that has not already been covered. Otherwise, I'm just making noise. Also, the longer you stay here, the more you see the same old questions and discussions, and you start to sit back and allow people to figure it out for themselves. Jedi should be self-sufficient after all ;)

2 - We are well aware of the rates at which new members register and disappear. And how exactly do you know that it's not noticed and that we've not done anything about it? In the last 4 years I've seen and participated in several initiatives and experiments to help with the attrition rates. Our current IP team is the result of some great collaborations and past learnings that has helped address exactly that. And they do an awesome job, and I find your assumptions that no ones bothering to look into it offensive considering how much effort they put in on a daily basis.

3 - Inconsistency will happen. We are human. This is a community, not a machine.

4 - Not everyone likes to talk about what they do in outside communities. There is a real resistance to feeling like people are bragging about their good works. You have no right to demand that people give you the details of their lives or get upset when only 4 people want to write an article about it. I can personally name nearly 20 Jedi off the top of my head who do formal community service, volunterism or some kind of regular contribution to their communities. If they don't want to tell you about it, then that is their choice. Feel free to ask me privately about my life outside the forums if you like, but im not writing epic tales about what a good Jedi I am.

5 - Creating dialogs, questioning, poking at our weak points and testing our comfort zones is absolutely essential, and its one of the things that I really DO appreciate about your posts. Game playing and making people feel manipulated to get your point across or create evidence to prove your position is not ok. And I say that as someone who once did exactly the same thing and lived to regret it, because it is not right action, right intention, or respectful to your peers.

You,re a control freak. Based on your response in your other thread and the content of this thread, I'm done with you. I don't even need to read beyond your OP. Stop trying to ram your version of doctrine down my throat.

A lot of great responses, thank you.

All that being said, I still stand by my beliefs and choices, even though some of them were made out to be far more strict then they actually are, which is probably a failure in how I wrote it. Irregardless I think what's done is done. The responses I've gotten privately have been almost 180 to what is posted here in this thread. It's a shame more people can't find their voice.

So I've done my part!

Peace, Love!

Ah i got a lot of private emails aswell , words like deception , manipulation , and a few other words that would not pass as a compliment here about you. Remember please , two can play that game , dont tell me that there are people that agree with you behind my back , tell me that you have learned from this and are willing to move on and learn that this place and being a Jedi is worth fighting for.

I dont oppose you critique of this place , i oppose your method ....this is my last reply here in this thread , i really hope your next one is more sincere and without the mind games displayed thusfar

Namasté ( my equivalent of your insincere peace and love )

Intentionally tricking us, continually justifying your behaviour with references to private conversations and conducting two-week experiments via walls of text on a community you've repeatedly told you are "too busy" to participate fully in...

Why on earth would this community listen to you on the subject of integrity?

If you think the turnover rate is high now you should have seen it 8 years ago...maybe 1out of every 100 stuck it out past the initial registration...

Like most of the knights I read as many threads as possible, not all of them as many get buried and time constraints prevent doing so. I reply when I feel compelled to, often I find that another has already stated what I would so there is no point in repeating what has already been said...

I'm the same no matter where I'm encountered...an imperfect jedi in an imperfect world...
