UK leaves European Union!

But if the UK decided in the end to remain a member of the EU, that would be a boost to the European project.
Merkel has told the German Parliament the UK must accept freedom of movement if it wants access to the single market. It seems the likelihood of the UK actually deciding to leave the EU is decreasing day by day...
If article 50 isn't triggered straight away it also gives the EU an opportunity to begin reform proceedings (we'll see what happens with the 27 member meeting tomorrow). If the EU promises reform then, as with the UK government promising Scotland, it may be enough to convince MPs to vote against Brexit.

I really doubt that.

Those are the current requirements for membership to the EEA, the platform through which countries who do not want to join the EU can still trade freely with it. I don't think it's decreasing day by day at all.

This will most definitely not happen, as it would undoubtedly mean the end of the EU.

Thankfully its just the minority. Still despicable though.
The problem is that because the majority voted leave, racists now think that the majority is on their side. The idiots. The majority won't tolerate behaviour like that.
At least I hope not, my family is both internationally and racially diverse, I am a little worried about them if this kind of intolerance continues.

Indeed my friend... So much violence. I can't belive the british majority want that kind of violence and ideas but the rate of violence and racism has increased in the last days, even agains't my people (portuguese)

I'm sure you've heard about the Madeleine Mccann Case? Do you think brits have ever had anything good to say about the investigating officers? About the portuguese people in general? Meanwhile the parents who admittedly abandoned their children are being given awards in the UK.
Had these people done this in the UK, they would have been arrested, and any found/remaining children would have been taken away by social services. But it happened in portugal. So what happened instead is that the portuguese police was portrayed as incompetent, the portuguese political establishment as unsupportive, and the portuguese people who paid for the years of investigation as a bunch of filthy thugs whose banks have to be bailed out (UK didnt bail out anything except itself) or something along those lines.
We could all just blame Murdoch for coming up with this garbage, but let's be fair and blame everyone who feeds him as well.

A someone who has lived in the UK, I can tell you that racism against the portuguese is nothing new. The English are racist against other citizens of the UK (the welsh, scottish and irish), and even more so against citizens of other countries. The darker they are, the farthest they come from, the worse it becomes. British citizens with asian ancestry suffered great abuse growing up in my area, and it would seem based on conversations with locals, that one of the main factors in their support of ''leave'' was to block asian/muslim immigration (WTF? UK gov controls that)
I have to admit that I don't know about your experience of living in the UK, but I do know mine. I'm from the North East of England, one of the poorer and more 'traditionally racists' parts. Firstly, we're not racist towards the Welsh, Scottish and Irish. We do make jokes about their stereotypes but they do the same about us and its usually in a jovial manner (a bit like Americans/Brits do and Americans/Canadians do). Regardless, that isn't the same as being racist, infact I'm not even sure why you're calling it 'racist' because they are the same race as the English? At best it's nationalistic/xenophobic.
Now, of course it would be a lie to say to that we don't have racism, every country on the planet does. But we also have one of the most ethnically diverse populations out there. At present there are now 1.2 million people across Britain who describe themselves as “mixed”, making mixed race the third-largest and fastest-growing ethnic minority group in the UK. To further prove my point, my working class parents built their way up to be successful business people so that, despite being so poor that we couldn't afford furniture in my house as a child, people now consider me to be part of the 'white, posh, elitist class', and yet I am the only person in my generation of the family that isn't either mixed race or dual nationality.

Exaggerated, and somewhat off topic I think. The McCanns recieve hate mail and death threats on a daily basis blaming them for the loss of their child, and telling them that they 'deserved' what happened to them.
Had these people done this in the UK, they would have been arrested, and any found/remaining children would have been taken away by social services.
Completely unfounded statement. What examples are there of similar events happening in the UK where the parents were locked up and had their children taken away? But again, this is off topic and should probably be continued in a different thread.

I'm not sure of the point that you're making here so I can't really provide a critique.
