Which Hogwarts House should Jedi belong to?

Yes, that's what this post was intended to be... I was curious about others' opinion on the houses and where they think they belong to... and now I became a "very questionable instrument of peace" and "inflexible" because of one sentence that you don't seem to like... but for this I say:

Now more of you can judge me, but it's my opinion. I admit I have strong preconceptions in connection with Slytherin - maybe Rowling wanted us to think about them this way. And that's why, even with its 'advantages', I would never want to get into that house, nor I can imagine it housing a Jedi. Their cheating, crushing lifestyle is totally against my value-system, and it outweights their resourcefulness (which I interpet this way: we should use our connections to achieve our goals, like Malfoy got into the quidditch-team by making his father buy everyone a brand new broom) and their ambitions (which is just like Renny said before me, is totally 'the ends justifies the means'-style). Also, what they did in the last film - they had to be closed into the dungeons because they wanted to give Harry out to Voldemort - totally shows their values. Were I in this situation, I would rather resign form the Hogwarts. Being in an environment where connections and power is much more important that those values that I represent, I would simply get an outcast... And I would rather be that than to adopt. Thank you. :side:

If Harry potter teaches anything, it's that to choose appearance over essence is to choose self-deception over wisdom. The fat useless kid becomes a hero, the dark, strange dangerous-looking teacher is a protector, the evil sirius black is a victim, etc....

Convictions are more dangerous foes of truth than lies.

Apologies if you thought I was making a personal remark about you, I wasn't and I invite you to reread my post to see if there's anything other than my personal perspective that I wouldn't characterise all Jedi in any one way, as per the question you posed at the end of your initial post. :)

Then sorry, I must have misunderstood that part. It happens when you discuss something on a foreign language... So sorry again. :)

No problem - and I would've had no idea English wasn't your first language if you hadn't said!

My interpretation of the sorting is that it was a matter of choice...remember the hat was recommending ravenclaw for hermione, but she CHOSE Gryffindor, it recommended slytherin for harry, but he CHOSE "anywhere but slytherin", and at the end he tells this little secret to his son albus severus "the sorting hat takes your CHOICE into consideration"

That being said I still haven't gotten to the sorting bit on pottermore, however every other test I've done has put me into either Gryffindor or slytherin....often it's only a matter of a couple of points difference between the two with me...

I think the best is on Pottermore... it's actually some kind of game, you can play through the events of the books, fill in a quiz and see which wand fits you most, get sorted into a house and collect points while brewing potions and duelling others... a bit childish but I love it. :P
If you want something other, then just google 'Which Hogwarts house do I belong to' or something alike and many results will appear. Good luck! :)

tzb: thank you, I try to do my best with languages. :)
RyuJin: I agree with you, the Sorting Hat tells people which qualities they have, and if they could belong to more then one house, they can decide. There is a good Dumbledore quote in connection with it:
“It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
