I would say a Jedi should belong to whichever house best resonates with their inner state of being. Each house has its own advantages and disadvantages in the path that it offers those who belong to said house. To say that all Jedi should belong to one specific house, is to say that they must all believe in the same things, and behave in the same manner. If this were the case, there would be no sense of individuality or perspective within practicing Jedi, as everyone would essentially be the same.

It is important to any organization to have a healthy level of diversity within the confines of said organization. If everyone believes and does the same thing as everyone else, progress usually grinds to a halt, and growth of both the individual and the organization will likely stagnate.

As for me personally, I would say I would probably choose Slytherin (If I had the option to choose), as I am an extremely resourceful individual with a high aptitude for utilizing what is available to me, in order to come up with unique solutions to problems. There is little I will not do to achieve my goals, or to uphold the things I believe in.

So long and thanks for all the fish

I'd say the Waffle House for me. Being a muggle and all, I think I'm best kept away from wands and such. I'll stick with a fork.

As far as people saying one of the heroes was from Slytherin, just remember that Snape was so obsessed with Lily that when she rejected him he dedicated his life to emotionally abusing her 11 year old son. And he only stopped being a Death Eater because he was personally affected by her murder. If Voldemort had chosen Neville to go after, Lily would not have died and Snape would still be a Death Eater. His motivations were always his own obsession with Lily, not some greater sense of duty and honor. He was more of an Anakin than a Luke or an Obi-Wan.

That said, I don't think Slytherin is automatically bad. Harry could have been in Slytherin himself. I'm a Ravenclaw, though I always kind of thought Hufflepuff suited me more. But once I got sorted I realized I hadn't been honest with myself about where I really belonged. I think Jedi could come from any house. There's good and bad in each.

This has always been my problem with this aspect of the story. It always seemed to me that he was an entirely selfish hero - he did what he did to attempt to alleviate the crushing guilt that he felt at Lily's death.

That's why I actually can't really regard him as a hero (not even a flawed one) - I believe that one should be judged not just on their actions, but also their motivations.

Actually, that is exactly why he is unselfish. As he couldnt stand Harry Potter. Certainly, the motivations were guilt and love, but what of it? Also, while he didnt treat him well, in at least every movie he protected him in some way.

He also went to Dumbledore to protect all three of the Potters, to which it was Wormtail that ultimately betrayed them.

Another key point is that only the heroes of the story could create a patronus. To which Snape could, as to where no other Dark arts practitioner could.

Snape only disliked harry because he was just like his father in appearance, and had a "certain disregard for the rules" that was shared with his father..these served as a constant reminder of the person that tormented snape the most...and his patronus was the same as lilly's....remember lupin said a person's emotional state greatly affected the shape and power of their patronus...example being how tonk's patronus changed into a werewolf after she fell in love with lupin.....

Now as to choosing which house...if I was able to choose, I wouldn't choose any of the 4....I would simply flip a coin....that or head to the forbidden forest since it seemed to be more exciting....
