There were 2 Star Wars rpgs: the first one came out in the late 80's, i think, and was a d6 system. The new one was by WotC (who owns D&D), and was a d20 offering.

Actually, there are now 4 versions of Star Wars RPG

1 - 1987 to 1999 - West End Games - d6 version
2 - 2000 revised 2002 to 2007 - Wizards of the Coast - d20 version
3 - 2007 to 2011 Saga Edition - Wizards of the Coast - d20
4 - 2012 to present - Fantasy Flight Games - new dice characters

Dang it! you beat me to it! I tried to mention Edge of the Empire but the site was down :,<

http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Edge-Empire-Rulebook/dp/1616616571/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378133620&sr=8-1&keywords=star+wars+rpg

Husband has read through it and it seems AWESOME. The 'tester' came out late last year but the full game came out a month or two ago. We have the set and the core rule book but haven't had a chance to run it. I'm too busy writing the current Pathfinder campaign haha.

This isn't a media-related interest, but I find hooping to be an interest many people don't know about. Hooping is basically stylized hula hooping. I picked it up around February and have about 6 moves mastered, it's a pretty enjoyable hobby as you learn to move your body in new ways, and you get a nice rush when your body finally masters how to make the hoop do what you want.

An example of hooping:

I'd like to start a thread here for sharing interests in music, movies, tv shows, games or other such entertainment. The "rule" I would like to put into effect is that what you share should be something that you think very few people would know about.

Simply post the title of what it is and mayhaps a few details to make it sound enticing to others.

This thread is not meant for debating the quality of each suggestion, it is merely meant to be a list of suggestions where you can find something you might never have come across anywhere else.

The first thing on this list will be my first suggestion.

Dr.Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

This internet featured comedy, with main actor Neil Patrick Harris, is about a villain's aspirations to gain entrance into the Evil League of Evil and take over the world one heist at a time while trying both to avoid his nemesis Captain Hammer and get the girl of his dreams Penny. He describes his successes, and failures, all in his video blog he posts for all to see. Includes several songs and takes place in three acts.

May the Force be with you,
Rai

So I guess any uniqe interest out side of multi media/electron enviroment would be against the rules?

Since Doctor Horrible was mentioned. I must tell you all about a man, no not a normal man but a mad man. He was a man of science and gentlemen with a bit of defiance. He was a man with a plan to rule the world, and school these people in the arts and joys of toys... He had a vision for land where we could enjoy the thrills and frills without being annoyed, by our mundane lives and being put down by the corporate man who greedily shakes your hand. It was a utopian playland to set you free so you can be happy, and live under the rule of that righteous man who wanted his music to set free this land we call a peaceful world with all of our wars and death, as it takes our breath. He saw through the lies and scams and created his army to unmask the voracious man. And at last his army of toy soldiers will save the world... turn it into a utopian playland in the name of that great man Doctor Phineas Waldolf Steel.....

Doctor Phineas Waldolf Steel was a self-published American musician and internet personality from Los Angeles. He performed on rare occasions with a "backup band", claiming that a fictitious robot band had malfunctioned. Shows incorporated puppetry, multimedia and performances by female members ("Nurses" and "Scouts") of his street team, The Army of Toy Soldiers

Not at all! that's simply the most common type so far.

Garwa Mayharr - I miss Doctor Steel. Also, on the same line of thinking, are you a Beats Antique fan?
Warning: Spoiler!

Or, perhaps, a casual enjoyer of Steam-Powered Giraffe?

I group all of the WotC offerings together, because technically the Saga Edition was the same game with a few reworked mechanics and new splat. It's kind of like how 3.5 D&D is often considered a separate edition than 3.0, but they're really the same thing with a few rules tweaks. I had not, however, heard of the FFG version. Now I must play it.
