I wonder who came up with this? tree leaks = god's tears ? What about the rain?

Also, how can this be a problem, since catholics form the largest christian denomination?

Alethea Thompson wrote: I'll tell you why this is a problem- because they are Christian. These Catholics are treating the "Miracle Tree" as a Graven Image, which goes against one of the Ten Commandments. By shedding light upon the actual process by which this is taking place, it directs their attention to what they really should be doing- which is worshiping and follow God's Word.

But hey, if they are going to believe that this tree is something to be stared at in awe- well if God does exist, then they'll have to answer to him some day for falling victim to it's appeal.

So why does it matter? It might not matter to you, and it shouldn't matter to anyone else- but it should matter to the individual which is being sold the idea.

I really detest when someone tells another what they should be doing... It's why I am a stand-alone-Jedi, who belongs to a loose amalgamation of others who think along similar lines, but not exactly... lol... :P

By your words, I should also be "By shedding light upon the actual process by which this is taking place, it directs their attention to what they really should be doing- which is worshiping and follow God's Word."

THe problem, as I see it you are having Alethea, is that because you also call yourself a Christian, this comparison to your beliefs might make a person think all Christians think this is a miracle...

But not all jedi play with lightsabers either...:)

They choose to focus on a 'miracle'... It is a temporary fixation, and proof that God exists, to them...

Next week, the potato chip of Jesus will be found again... Everyone can relax then...

People look for signs and proof everywhere...

We Jedi say it is everywhere and in everything... To see proof of 'the force', look around, what is not proof?

To me, most people (non jedi) seem stuck on the symbols, and looking for evidence that is tangible...

This 'butt-juice' (yea Wes, kills me too, lol), is as much proof of the existence of god as is a flower...

Both were made, ultimately, through him/it....

An humorous story, but nothing to get worked up about, in my opinion...

On walk-about...

Jedi ain't Saints....

Rain isn't god's tears?

*sigh* Does NO ONE read everything written in a post- if you did you would notice that I do not judge them b/c it's God's place to do so. I also point out that the Arborist that apparently is upset that the Catholics involved are idiots should not care either.

I'm actually quite fine referring to Catholics as Christo-Pagans, which gives them a pass on looking upon graven images and treating the Cross as something overly revered. To me, they are their own version of Christianity.

I may be Christian, but my views on the subject and understanding of "Thou shalt not have other gods before my face" is something quite different from the traditional view; as such I encourage the exploration of other faiths to find the deity you belong to- I just happen to believe that I belong to Abraham's God.

Personally, I couldn't care less what people believe, so long as it doesn't lead to forms of violent extremism. We all have, on some level, irrational beliefs.

If they are happy, then great!

I didn't get the impression, in this situation, they were trying recruit/sell for their church but in any case any public act will be observed by nonmembers/uninformed/ignorant/cporious reguardless of the groups intent, so.... buyer be ware. :) ;)
