Roflmao...

It's odd...I'm never perceived as a threat any where...if I'm even noticed at all...where ever I go it seems as though I'm invisible....until I get agitated, then everyone becomes terrified and gives me a very wide berth...I often speak with a voice that goes unheard even by my closest friends and family...I've even left a room and came back and no one noticed....however if I'm in a foul mood everyone seems to notice my presence then....the only other time people seemed to notice my presence is during acting and theatre classes in which my acting instructor was constantly going on about my strong scene presence....

I enjoy the element of surprise granted by going unnoticed....it leads to opponents consistently under estimating me....

Interestingly when at work I draw a lot of attention from everyone, women become flirty and men become friendly...

OK so maybe the alpha male thing works in 6th grade but <most> people evolve beyond that fairly quickly when they see its shortcomings. Next everyone falls into the "class" structure and the rich person is the leader presumably because they worked harder to become rich(cough). Then everyone falls for the authority thing.

The point is: alpha males drop off the radar quickly and are a short lived phenomenon in human growth and development. A more realistic approach is to think about how humans bond or don't bond and the relationships that follow...

Morning Horse...:)

They certainly do exist when we are younger, more impressionable, and learning how to handle ourselves in the world...

I wonder where the bullies learn it? From a parent bullying the other parent, and possibly the child themself? Asserting dominance with the 'Im right, your wrong, cause I said so" routine?

The steerotypes we observe in children still exist in adults, only we start dealing with them differently...

We ignore the fact that 'he is a hippy', that 'he's a dick', that 'she seems easy', that.... Oh, well, we kinda ignore it...

We can limit our exposure to these types of people by limiting our time with them, how we percive them, and really, how we allow ourselves to be affected by them....

I see them every day, these stereotypes... Doesnt matter which one you look for, they exist...

I am not judging these people, I am merely observing... I treat everyone with the same respect...

And, Im not hear to convince you they exist...;) I am only discussing what I see...;)

Here is an interesting website for everyones reading pleasure...:)

I looked for some credible scientific reading, but, there isnt any... A lot of lovey crap...

That list shows some excellent points...

I guess bullies learn it from other kids who learn it from adults. I went to a really dangerous high school where people would go into "roid rages" or fight over their gang turf, or fight over a girl, or fight over drugs, etc. A lot of my peers went to jail for a long time.

I mean I didn't learn anything about violence from my parents, it came from other kids who learned it from others. You could see some males grow bigger than others but that was short lived by all the guys taking steroids... which was short lived by all the guys on coke... ad infinitum. Eventually these people created a negative feedback loop in which the columbine tragedy occurred(and many others). When you look at the culture, you see parents who make weapons and get big salaries so they're treated like big-shots and their kids see this and follow suit. Elaborate displays of hyper-masculinity everywhere... guys driving Hummers, carrying loaded guns everywhere, crime shows on every channel, terror this and terror that, terrible reality. So now we have a fear-based society with staggering inequality and injustice... where the air you breathe and the water you drink are toxic, cameras everywhere, a policeman on every corner, money is power, and power is everything.

I bet the people in other countries are reading this and going like WTF?

Good morning to you as well! I guess I'm still going through reverse culture shock after moving back to the US. It was really nice being in another country far away from the evil empire we call the USA. lol

I am actually offended when people refer to the US as evil. Sure, it’s not perfect. It seems that a lot of people making decisions for everyone else are motivated by greed and corruption. The systems in place don’t all work the best they could. But I wouldn’t call the US or her citizen’s evil.

;)

It is a fact that fish will not live where the water is too clear. But if there is duckweed or something, the fish will hide under its shadow and thrive. Thus, the lower classes will live in tranquility if certain matters are a bit overlooked or left unheard. This fact should be understood with regard to people’s conduct.

If you expect perfection you will always be disappointed. Sure we could all be better and strive to do so but we are human, flawed and are limited. Lets not be too hard on ourselves.

So now someone will post an extreem example to show how wrong this statment is. ;)

I was wondering how one my judge the evilness of a country and started looking up a few “stats” on the murder rates and crime rates reported. The key word here is REPORTED. I'm sure that in some places, what is reported is different from what is!

Then I thought, “Who gives out the most charity?”

There are a number of things you could use to decide who is the most “evil.” But if you’re not working to improve the situation then are you helping or hindering? No country is a Saint and I don’t think any country is Evil. More than likely, each country is doing what they feel they must to look out for their own best interest. And to others, with different cultures and different standards, other countries may seem good or bad.
