I think you are over reacting to my statment and taking it to an extream. I think reading words on paper and books is a good thing ans getting out of the house in mother nature is wonderful. I don't see a connection to the food and clothing labels?

It is not his bussiness model. If it is at all a bussiness model it is the "corporations" bussiness model.

About the corporation itself, I don't know how the prision sistem works in the US, I believe prisions are privately managed, but that is only the information I got from movies. Perhaps you cared to explain your point a little further.

Why do you feel the prision is a corporation that profits from having criminals deprived of their liberty?

Why do you feel that the laws broken have no legitimacy?

Why do you feel the sentencing guidelines are wrong?

And about the assault on an officer, if a person walked up to you and started insulting you, farting and/or spitting at you wouldn't you under US law have grounds to go to report it? is it not a crime when done to you?

And if it is, Why do you feel the police officer deserves less protection than you for instance? Are they not normal people?

Well actually in the US a police force is a private company(corporation) which contracts with the city(a corporation). Most prisons are corporations. These corporations lobby legislators to pass ridiculous laws and outrageous sentences so that people are locked up longer( and hence they make more profit). We have people getting life sentences because they have 3 strikes against them... stupid things like getting caught with pot 3 times... or pot once, farting on a cop once, and then telling the judge to fuck off(3 strikes). Judges take bribes from these prisons to sentence children to maximum sentences, the list goes on.

Prisons get $50k/year for every prisoner they have, depending on the state.

Anyway, most cops are just actors who go around fining people for saying things. The majority of tickets they issue are for retarded stuff like california stops, no registration, and farting in their general direction.

“According to the US Department of Justice, 30-40 percent of all current prison admissions involve crimes that have no direct or obvious victim other than the perpetrator,” the report shows. “The drug category constitutes the largest offense category, with 31 percent of all prison admissions resulting from such crimes.” Nearly a third of all prison admissions are from non violent drug offenses!

In 2007 the Department of Justice reported that there were 1,841,182 drug arrests in the United States; the report also stated that there were more drug abuse arrests than any other category of offenses. Marijuana arrests accounted for 47.4% of the drug abuse arrests. This allows us to estimate that about 872,720 persons were arrested for marijuana offenses. Eighty-nine percent of these arrests were for possession.

Federal government figures indicate there are more than 41,000 Americans in state or federal prison on marijuana charges right now, not including those in county jails. That’s more than the number imprisoned on all charges combined in eight individual European Union countries.”

Sorry I am kinda confused. Is this topic about the legal system, possible inequalities of the legal system or allowing others to control your emotions.

On the first 2 we can have a endless debate, however as this is a jedi realist, jediism forum I would say this being a more important aspect to discuss. The first 2 we have no direct control over, however that last is something completely within our power as a individuals.

Inequalities within the legal system matter greatly to us as they are in contradiction to our doctrine.

Besides I've never known you to not do something just because it may have zero impact...

If those allegations are true you have a real problem with the legal system in the US. And here I thought the spanish legal system was kind of crappy

What you are saying is that the police, the judiciary and the legislative powers are corrupt, and the way you say it it sounds like the corruption affects the vast majority of those.

I really hope you are exagerating.

To prove this you would need to go through all the judges, their cases and so forth.
This is not something any of us can accomplish.

Per the legal system having flaws I personally do not think anything is perfect, other then myself of course, and there is room for improvement.

We need to also look at other facters that many do not consider, is it the judge, the legal representives the people have and so forth. Now if you are saying that white folks make more money and get better lawyers to get off on charges then that has nothing to do with the lgal system itself instead it is economical not rasical inequality.

Of course it has to do with the legal system. People should be judged for their crimes, not based on how skilled a representative (lawyer) is. If the system is biased, directly or not, it is an unjust system. A system, which, I would hope, a Jedi like yourself would stand up against.

People are judged on the crimes it is believed they have committed. Remember innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. It the laws were against a specific race then I would have issues, however that is not the case. It is a economical issue so unless people here go to law school and take on a lot of probono work there is no way to change that.

Do not get me wrong I do understand your side of this topic, however I just do not see the same way you do. I personally stand behind the US legal system from the cops who pick people up, to the DA who charges them, the judge who controls the circus and the jury who either aquits or finds them guilty.

Stop drinking the Kool-Aid. Indonesia has less corruption than the US (also lower unemployment, more home-ownership, higher life expectancy, healthier food, blah blah blah).
