Hard life

So yesterday I was at work as most of you know I'm a correction officer, one of my not so lovely inmates came up to me and said the only reason he is locked up is because he is black and the white cops are out to get him.... I think this is bs sorry but come on then he tells me he had a hard life due to the fact he is black .... Back round on this inmate he is in for rape murder and all kinds of other bad things he likes to hit cops and co's like myself. So I tell this kid who is all of 23 to get away from me I don't want to hear how bad he thinks he has it .... He then starts to walk away and calls me racest ... Wow rt so I lose it on this kid I tell me he don't know nothing about a hard my life growing up was not good i won't get into it here but not good... I then tell him the cops don't like him not because he is black but because he is a scumbag ... I know this I not rt but I don't lik being called a racest he then starts to say something I don't know why but I look around and see the others looking at me I cool down fast and be for he can say anything I say I m sorry that was wrong and go on to talk to him about how I don't care what he did or what he said or anything about him I care about how he acts onmy dorm so we will see if he is better to day yeah going to be fun at work sorry for the rant MTFBWY all to day

Hmmm...each time I've been on the wrong side of the bars (4 times too many,pause for gasps) it never surprises me how many times the race card or the hard life card gets played...people need to simply admit "hey i screwed up, and got caught"...my life growing up sucked...big deal, I got over it, I'm not going to use it as an excuse for stupidity...and I never blame the co's nor cause them problems...problems for them usually equates to bigger problems for inmates...yet the majority of them never seem to make that connection...

Geez...

I hate responsibility but it comes with freedom and control of my destiny so I act rersponsible.

I don't like work either but that's how I get things. No one gives you anything, it always takes work and time.

im inculcating this in my son right now, rickie, almost all of it. life is hard, it is not fair, it hurts sometimes, and all you can do is try your best at it. i dont want him to make the same mistakes i did.

i stopped short of teaching him the croation nursey rhyme i learned when i was younger tho: 'life is short, life is sh*t, and soon it will be over.' it sounds better in the original croation.

a thought occurs applicable to the subject at hand: i am teaching my son these things, just as my father taught me. but it seems that in a lot of these cases, there was no one to teach these things that kids need to learn early, or at least not a father figure.

When it comes down to it, there are far too many individuals making babies that should be sterilized, just my thoughts. I see a lot of kids learning first hand how the world works all too early just by watching their parents. I helped raise my two nieces to be honest, be themselves, and to swing for the fences and kick between the legs should the need ever "present itself". The youngest one, she's a scrapper and could probably survive a zombie apocalypse...

but the older one would just be walker bait? kinda mean assessment, zenchi...

Kids live in an artificial world. Cable TV, video games (I think they are the worst),movies, internet, fantasies graphic novels, dumbed down libral education. Both parents work, no time for the kids. It's not quality time it's time together.
