well Mouse, as I've mentioned, I have close to 30yrs of experience
The style I mainly do is isshinryu karate which means one heart, one mind way. Also, I do kobudo which is primarily okinawan weapon study. I'm proficient in bo (staff), sai, tonfa, kama, nunchuka and will be learning the eku or boat oar.
I also study techniques with the shinai/bokken as well.
I started studying MA by watching the old black belt theatre on tv back in 78. They would do demostations and techniques after every show. I tried TKD but the style didnt fit me and I didnt like the teacher.
When I turned 14 I started isshinryu, and been doing that ever since.
I have studied under other instructors of different arts as well. Kung fu sticky hands, Shaolin fighting, shorin ryu and a few others I cant recall at the moment. I also took on my drill sergeant in the army (bad move but worth it :woohoo: ).
My knowlegde is that I am always seeking that top platform within the martial arts. I'm always looking at techniques I can use for defense and self aware. Martial arts has gotten a small bad name since the UFC and MMA tournaments in my opinion. One has to remember that is not what MA is all about.

I am not a teacher of it as such, though I do teach beginners (ie im not a coach) and only been shooting 10years or so but if you want to ask about Archery (I have posted a fair bit in library on it) and as I have also dabbled in other Martial Arts I can make fair comparisons if you want.

According to the records, you were Knighted some time back so this isnt a promotion as such... its a correction of an error.
However, your 'promotion' was discussed by several Masters and it was during this discussion it was found you'd already been knighted.
This Knighthood is also one of many reasons we asked if you would help with the library and we are very happy that you accepted.
By time you read this, your signature will be done as well

The Mouse That Roared
(Actually the title of quite an old film)
Titles, Ranks, etc etc etc are not handed out like candy, so please don't feel embarrassed etc. I personally can not think of anyone Id rather have in charge of the Martial Arts section of the Library and I know others agree which is why we asked you.
