By the way, Jestor: why did you drop your toothbrush? That's gross.

I picked the hair off (mostly) first before I went back to brushing!!

How I dropped it was I looked in the mere, and was so shocked and the f-ugly beast staring back, I screamed like a small child, ducked, and banged my head on the sink, as well!!

First off thank you everyone for replying, I expected my post to disappear into the nether regions of the interwebs. Secondly, my post was to alert those in charge about the essential readings. I don't have a problem reading material that conflicts with my reality. After reading mctagert I went off and read a whole lot more about her. She has a right to publish whatever she wants and I have a right to read it or not. My issue is that if I am going to invest a whole bunch of time and effort in something I want that something to have value. Mctagert IMHO has no real value. So if she is the basis or a foundation of the community it makes sense for me to break off here. If organized religion is going to be criticized for fluffy thinking that manipulates the masses then what is mctagert? I guess what I need to know is ; how much influence does mctagert's thoughts, philosophies, writings have in the temple? Is this an organization that looks for the truth or one that promotes untruths? No disrespect intended in my post.

Well I think she is a load of rubbish lol

The IP is really a tiny part of the training here... once you've done the IP you can do an Apprenticeship and that is much more personalised and in depth

After your Apprenticeship has been completed you can do vast amounts of self study (our degree scheme). The self-study section is actually larger and longer then both the IP and the Apprenticeship combined

It isn't mentioned how preliminary the IP really is. After completion you can talk to prospective teaching masters (knights high) about what lessons they provide. Although actually it will be the master that approaches you and not the other way around

Hope that helps :)

Lynne McTaggart does not have any influence here of which I'm aware. The lesson is just a test of the readers critical thinking skills among other things.

She might be a small bit in the overall scheme of things but I think by putting her ideas at the very beginning of training sends a message. I read that message as "she is very important". Does the temple believe we can heal the sick telepathically or not? I am new and have no Jedi friends. My only knowledge of the temple comes from the readings.

Some do , some don't....we have a vast array of views....

I believe in the power of the mind...there are still many mysteries of the mind yet to be solved...in football we had an expression: what my mind can conceive, my body can achieve

The power of belief is fascinating...placebos work, and they do so because the person taking them genuinely believes it to work...however if there is even a lingering doubt then they won't work...

In a way the mctaggert lesson presents a test of an individuals power of belief by presenting incredible things that you can choose to believe or not...

Like everything, this site will evolve...

Every person who joins helps shape that future...

Complaints about McTaggart keep mounting, but we have no one offer anything to replace it....

Actually, we have had offers, but those that have reached a level of influence, overall, have understood its not that she prevents facts, but its her overall story she presents to us...

So, for the moment, she stays...;)

Its like when you join a group who, overall you agree with, but there's obviously going to be parts you disagree with, tough it out...

Dude, I hate groups, because humans individually are smart, in a group? Not so much...

I reluctantly joined here to learn what I could and I was gonna leave...

This isn't a "group", but rather a conglomeration of individuals who work together, and try to share some knowledge, as well as learn from each other....

(Lol, although "group" works, it defeated my point!! :woohoo:)

Your quick judgement sounds like disliking a ballteam because you don't like a specific player, lol...
