Adder- yes, as a matter of fact there is a very strict understanding of the Sith Path. They, unlike the Jedi, DO NOT accept anyone that walks in the door. Only a select few get to actually refer to themselves as Sith, all others are looked at as role-players or wannabes. The Sith Community has come to accept only two orders as teaching what it really means to be a Sith, the rest are considered faux. If you're lineage doesn't come from Darth Moor (the first head of the Dark Aspect dating back to 1998) you simply are not a Sith.

Wow, that goes beyond selective to ridiculous. Trace it back to that one guy, huh? I had a professor in undergrad who was taught by John Nash of 'A Bueatiful Mind' fame, does that legitimize my work in game theory? Of course not.

That rigidity is most unwise.

My thoughts exactly. How pathetic Sithism must be if its authenticity stands and falls on one person. Sounds like Moorism more than Sithism. As to what the real Sith communities are or not, these are statement made for people who just can`t think for themselves. And even though Br. John has set up the most successful Jedi site on the net he is not Jediism, nor does his absence on other Jedi sites invalidate Jediism elsewhere.

I've never heard of this guy. I'm still new to the community at large (joined in April) so all I've known is Draconis leading the Dark Aspect at the Academy and Miles leading his Order of the Sith Lords. Given the nature of dark siders I can't see the dark side of the community becoming a cult of personality. Ave Draconis, though. :3

Well I will say this, in a weird turn of events, the guy that was once the head of the first "Dynasty" is in the Light Aspect now. Very interesting history that one has. :D He goes by the name Darius on FA now.

Many of the sith/darksiders eventually lose their anger/hate/interest (depending on the one in question)...eventually the dark loses its appeal as we get older, and wiser, and the lure of the light becomes too strong to ignore...

As for me I like to stay in the middle, doing what I feel is needed regardless of how it's perceived by others....sometimes its good sometimes not so...but perceptions are easily fooled and easily changed....

I would be interested to know who you are (from a curiosity point of view), what is important to you in terms of Sithism, how do you define it, what are the important things you would teach someone etc

Just wondering if you would like to share your views with us here rather than in a 1 on 1 session

I wonder how common that is. I might look into the work because that seems like a weird viewpoint. Seems almost to come from a guilt perspective.

For me....

This is how I see it William...

There is the dark, then it morphs into the light....

Then the realization that the light and dark are merely perspectives...

That neither exist, things (including people), simply, are, simply exist....

I describe dark and light as being at the two ends of a continuum...with a continuum, there is no divide, it is all part of the same continuum...it is impossible to say that at some point one stops and the other begins.

I find that that is a helpful way of visualising how, as Master Jestor said, they are two different perspectives of the same thing...
